There is one more “prokaryotic” organelle - the conjugation pilus. It allows an organism to get genes from another organism, and thus another organelle, but it there is a 10% chance of stealing the DNA.

There are organisms that had evolved pilus, but they could not survive the first pass filtering.

I do think some of your organisms can survive if they evolved pilus. But they have yet to do so.
Think so too, they probably could endure the flagella but none of them have recovered it since the incident. Though I suppose having nitrogenase is a fair trade in the end.

What may the changes be?
I am waiting on doomlightning to choose his organism, organism name, and biome.
I see we have a new patch to explore. How does them appearing work again?
Every 100 million years you can change biomes, and the number of biomes that an organism can expand to depends on the biomes next to it. The biomes are already there, but no one could go the Epipelagics before.
I wonder when will a vents biome be discovered…
Unfortunately, with current pace this FG is going, vents probably won’t be accessible until after 0.8.2.0(+) already comes out. And no one has evolved the tolerances to handle the deep ocean biomes yet.
Also hopefully we won’t need to do an another seed reset after 0.8.2 is out…
We will see. If planet seed does change again, I already have accounted for that in some future plans for the FG.
How do you plan to handle it then if you don’t mind telling us?
One is that the changes are due to emergence of extensive volcanism. Another is due to Snowball Earth (assuming it triggers in upgraded save files, and I am able to upgrade the save).
I don’t think snowball episodes can lead to landmass distribution changes in themselves…
