Loading screen artwork contest art submission thread

Any artwork tied to the loading screen project should be posted here. I will update here as well when the main focus, species and clades of interest, change, however artwork of any species from this project will still be accepted.

Requirements for art to be considered for loading screens:

• Each artwork should attempt to include more than one species (this will be dropped for the two initial body plans (species named Alustava liikuja and Ensimmäinen peruna as these are the initial body plans of the project) Info about the species, general info, image and habitat location is provided at the top of each contest thread.

• The works should try to be dynamic and show some type of interaction between individuals and/or species.

• No AI generation used. (Likely unnecessary but I feel the need to mention it in case it becomes an issue in the future. I will also advocate for the removal of any loading screen images we later discover to be AI generated)

• The specific artstyle should be something similar to naturalistic/impressionistic (it should match the look of current loading screens in game), avoiding cartoonish styles.

• Include your forum user name so we can credit you both in game (if it is chosen to be used as a loading screen) and in my video on the project.

• State if you want to art piece to be voted on as a potential future in game loading screen. Otherwise it will only be used in my spec evo videos on this project.

The requirements of art to be used in my videos are all of the above except for the style requirement.

I also need to get going with my own art for this contest so that it even has a chance of competing against the big fish that will probably emerge for it.

A Mother Kova pää suddenly dies at night due to illness, leaving its only young Kova pää alone in the world. The dead Mother Kova pää is partially stuck in the sediment. The young Kova pää is grief-stricken, and refuses to leave their Mother’s side.

I think you should fill in the empty space or else it would look to jarring with the background of lines and the white of the pages

I think so? Though I’m unsure we had transparent loading screens before…

Interestingly, the lighting from above when taking a picture of my art makes the sediment have a 3d effect.

I did update my description to say it is also a part of the loading screen contest last week. Also mentioned it in the 2nd loading screen artwork contest thread. Strange that it was not mentioned in the PU?
