Multicellular Organisms!

I could of sworn there was a seperate macroscopic thread but I can’t find it so I’m posting it here

I liked this one because it looked like an evolutionary line

I’m really proud of how it came out, I think it’s a bit better then my earlier attempts

mushroom thing I made a long while ago

and weird seal thing!

There does exist such a thread infact.

This is technically still a “work-in-progress”, but given it already takes around 10 minutes for this thing to fully grow, I don’t think my Myalia Motus (quite an ironic name, given how slow it is) will ever reach its most glorius form. I still want to share it though.

The creature mostly sustains itself through photosynthesis (which happens in the green cells in the middle), but, due to some interesting evolutionary history (and my unwillingness to fully become a plant) it also features carnivorous features, such as two mouth cells (red) that, through their cilia, bring its poor prey right in front of the violet cell, filled with toxic organelles (At least, in theory. In practice, the mouth cells mostly bring other microbes out of the toxin’s way, rendering them less than useless). I also wanted to add cells for digestion and for processing hydrogen sulfide, of which the tidepool I’m in is rich, the cyan cell being the future digestive cell and the empty spot at the other side one day holding the chemosynthesizer cell. (Although I’m pretty sure such careful planning will be quite difficult to put in practice once auto-evo starts affecting multicellular organisms and your population freefalls because your master plan has left you unadaptable.)

Since the organism uses mainly photosynthesis it contains storage cells (brown), although two is probably a bit overkill. To quicken reproduction 3 ammonia-producing cells were added (orange), and behind them lie the swimmer cells, to heighten the speed of the organism in general. Both failed in their purpose.

Lastly, since the great toxin-spike arms race had made waters quite dangerous to swim through, the organism is protected by an outer layer of cells. These brand fierce pili, mostly used to deflect projectiles but sometimes also to grind other species against the rocks.

It was a pretty fun playthrough, especially the aforementioned arms race. Well, designing the species so as to handle it was fun. Playing through the bullet-fest on the other hand…

A pro tip, slime jet still is capable of fullfilling it’s purpose in multicellular (as long as most of your cells have it)

Ah, yes. Sentient Fungi!

Pretty sure those are as forbidden as awakened flora
