Here is a new organelle I thought of that could be helpful to the player. This might not be an often-used organelle, but I find it could be helpful in a few of my playthroughs. Please ask any questions you have about this organelle.
Isn’t this more or less a photoreceptor?
Could you explain what a photoreceptor is? (I’m guessing it senses light but I’m not sure)
Yeah. A receptor of the photons.
It’s more of: This many seconds until reduced movement and this many seconds until regular movement patterns.
Are you sure it’s worth putting effort to implementing this organelle over moving towards concluding microbe stage development phase?
I feel it would be more important to focus on finishing microbe stage, but considering today’s update brought an organelle I also think that they could squeeze in this organelle in one of the updates.
Would this be an eukaryotic organelle?
I feel as if that should be up to the developers, I’m not great at game balancing so I don’t know which would be the better choice.
It is supposed to occupy 2 hexes, correct?
Yes, I probably should have put that in the info.
What would be it’s unlock condition?
Hmmm, I didn’t think about that. Most likely something to do with sunlight persentages.
Would it give any benefits to the player?
Possibly a little bit of Glycosis, but its use is primarily for the AI cells, and considering a new concept for the behavior in the Dev forum it will also give some stat boosts to the player if they follow their circadian rhythm.
I presume better osmoregulation that is?
Yes, less osmoregulation cost if you follow it, and increased movement and osmoregulation cost if you don’t.
I can imagine some effort would need to be put for such changes in osmoreg and speed to occur during gameplay basing on player’s actions…
Yes, I would suppose so.
This is why organelle suggestions like this one don’t get accepted very often these days…
