Progress Updates

All of the following are later on the Roadmap than Repro

  • Actomyosin available in the multicellular stage (muscle cell type)
  • Nerve cell based on axon
  • Non-cell parts of multicellular colonies (optional, if time)
  • Background cells (optional, if time)
  • Reproduction cell type (different from plain gamete) (optional, if time)

I guess that last one also counts as Repro, though, so you might be right.

I do hope we get at least the Nematocyst in Multicellular.

If not now maybe there’d still be time for it to be added to multicell during macro dev?

nah i am planning to use mass budding in the next update, so i can start with my energy and attacker cell

So mass budding with a 2 cell start that is?

I presume we’ve now entered a phase of polish before the 1.2.0 releases on the 29th?

  • Added a difficulty option-controlled ability to spawn a compatible mate upon calling for one. This defaults to on with Normal and lower difficulty, but is disabled at Hard. A chemoreceptor-style line points to this spawned mate upon calling one.

To clarify, is this a new Custom Difficulty option that is on by default on Normal and lower difficulties?

Isn’t polish usually the week before? We still have 3 weeks.

Yeah but nothing stops them from starting to do it a bit earlier, especially in such a featurerich update

Will this mean 1.2.0.0 could release earlier?

No, it’d still release the same time methinks

Maybe some day it will be possible with biolum vacuole aswell…

man i love the bioluminescent vacuole, also it would make sense to add it to the aware stage, since fireflies do attract males by glowing

I wonder if you could also evolve explosive/combustive chemicals in macro/aware…

like the explosive harpoon bioweapon? that would be even cooler!

I meant more the bombardier beetle but that also fits ig

I wonder how much more damaging could biological explosive/combustible chemicals be? Would a Creeper-like organism be even possible?

The problem is that it’d surely die to it’s own explosion…
