Quick Question Thread

Welcome to the forum @Gnome!

I donโ€™t know if youโ€™d be able to go to industrial and beyond

I donโ€™t think you would be allowed to evolve it in the first place, unless you do it artificially as some seed world thing or smth

Or go the plantanimal/funganimal routeโ€ฆ

Arenโ€™t those generally pretty inefficient?

Itโ€™s not that you wouldnโ€™t be allowed, itโ€™s that photosynthesis is so heavy/energy inefficient that a plant with brain cells and muscles would likely not get enough energy to move/survive.

To my knowledge, the only CURRENTLY โ€œnot allowedโ€ thing is Aquatic Industrial, with talks about other civs possibly needing limits. The rest is about managing to get enough energy to survive, which is Auto-Evo, which does not โ€œprohibitโ€ anything, to my knowledge.

Also pretty sure in the future you wonโ€™t be allowed to change membrane types in multicellular, so you wouldnโ€™t be able to make a โ€œtrueโ€ plant with axons anyway

I am fairly certain axons donโ€™t require a specific membrane type.

Would that be in line with what we know about the irl axons?

Then again, that is based on life as we know it, so who knows if neuronal cells with other membranes are possible?

Thatโ€™d be left for the goodwill of the devforce on the topic of nonlawk things to sort out

it is crazy how Acetabularia looks like neuronsโ€ฆ

Reminds me of the Lantian Biota.

Just because it looks similar doesnโ€™t mean it has the same/similar function, if thatโ€™s what you wanted to signal

If thrive begins getting an new high enough influx of money for a second full time developer, or HH becomes unable to keep working for whatever unfortunate reason (god i hope that donโ€™t happen) who would be this second developer? Or that wasnโ€™t even thought yet?

Not sure this sort of plan was exactly laid out yet. Probably since if anything weโ€™re for now trying to secure the money flow for Hhyyrylainen, not another dev.

At which scale do compound clouds become too small and insignificant for our species that it has to use something else? Are they only going to eat preys if they canโ€™t make energy themselves?

That will happen in macroscopic I think.

autotrophs will still exist

What type of food will we have in Macroscopic stage? Meat and bones for carnivores? What about herbivores?

This will depend on what sort of organisms evolve

Very likely that in the microscopic stage there will be representation of microscopic life as clouds or biofilms on surfaces.

Btw how are liquids planned to be simulated like in the 3d stages?
