Quick Question Thread

in the future will there be an option to see a world map in every stage because I would really enjoy being able to watch the planet evolve along side my species , actually I would really prefer that all maps be real maps and not patch maps if im being honest.

How detailed will the behavior editor be? Will there be an advanced option to ‘code’ the cell?

@jellyfishmon The devs want to reflect the knowledge of your species onto your own abilities, such as viewing the entire world. You will slowly reveal the map of your world as you become sentient or perhaps when you develop maps. And despite your microbe not being able to really know what patches are in its nearest proximity, the patch map is going to be there for gameplay reasons, such as more diverse evolution.

why can’t i see my cell in the editor?

Because people keep asking this question instead of learning to program and helping with this well known issue:

I would love this feature.

Did you just… Did you just quote yourself?

Bacteria with cell walls are now the correct capsule shape
Enabled cell walls for eukaryotes

Improved the look of iron significantly
New biome
Fixed bug where cells would have more compound then they should in various cases
Fixed bug that prevented 1/2 of all possible AI cell starting organelle configurations from generating (AI cells will be less prone to dying immediately)

Is there going to be a climate change like in civ gs?
Or spyies? Unit specializations like anti-cavalry heavy infantry…?

Climate change is something that is planned to be added even to the microbe stage, so yes to that.

And probably we’ll want to have depth in the strategy stages as well so there will probably units that counter each other.

Wait in the microbe stage? Hows that gonna work?

Enough of something will change something. That’s vague, so an example is plant cells lowering carbon dioxide and nitrogen and creating more oxygen.

For example the Great Oxygenation Event could happen. Or other gases could change in concentration.

Then something like the snow ball Earth could happen etc. There’s tons of things still to be added to the microbe stage.

Is there gonna be loyalty feature like in rise and fall like cities ,towns rebelling from you and another civs? And stealing technology

its a little too soon for them to know what the future stages are going to be like.

also I played the new version and I must say I like it a lot and it makes me excited to see what comes next, my favorite part was probably the beginning before you get a nucleus. I think thats because it gives you a goal where the later game doesnt really have one. I think adding the next stage would help even if its just a place holder, it would also allow you guys to understand how to blend the stages better.

Is there an ice biome? And how will the ice biome affect you in the microbe stage and later stages?

Yes, there is already a background for it. At the moment the main effect of being in an ice biome will probably mean less sunlight that if it wasn’t icy. In the future there may well be ice to bump into and coldness mechanics.
