its not a “bug”, i just set the brightness to an very high value to find out what it does, and yes, in the prokaryote stage, at the end of the stage they will get a bioluminescent vacuole (though a normal one)
And will it be able to have different colors when it is fully implemented?
probably yeah, also i meant the eukaryote stage sorry for that.
also, prokaryote stage is finished! (the membrane color is random)
So it just took you like 2 days to make 1 stage prototype?
told you im not a great developer ![]()
another thing to clarify, this game will use custom evolution, not a lawk one. so if you see some things that dont make sense, its because i liked it so i kept it. pls dont kill me if the evolution doesnt make sense
No I think that’s a pretty fast timeframe for such a goal, no?
well, i already learnt the basic 3D particles, meshes and collisions etc. so the 3D space is easy for me, and for scripting i just use help from other websites to help me make the code (as i do not understand the gd programming language) but i am slowly learning the code too!
So like copy-pasting some lines of code to make objects and such?
yeah, but i do sometimes manually edit them to work correctly
I see. I hope the next stages aren’t a hassle for you to develop either.
i hope too, but i might have a problem to transition between microscopic and macroscopic/planetary environments, as my previous attempts to transition the player between scenes has been unsuccesful
Maybe with more experience you’d be able to weather this barrier…
yeah, since i remember i didnt know how to make 3D shapes in godot, now i can do them in seconds, so i am improving. maybe after i learn godot even more, i could contribute to Thrive and add some features, even make mods for Thrive!
Would that happen alongside the development of this game?
probably, as this game isnt even like a serious project, just a little place for me to experiment with godot, so this game will always recieve updates (well, sometimes the game will be left alone for years)
And are you sure you’d never forget it?
this is my most advanced project yet. even if i forget about it, i will randomly remember it when looking through my old godot projects or randomly pop up in my head
I find it kind of interesting we had this and edapt popping up just now when Thrive went without any spinoffs for a good while beforehand
this probably wont even be that popular, since its a very simple barebones game, atleast for now, and who would except me wanna sit for possibly half an hour just to watch a species evolve and build civilization
So there’d be like 3 minutes a stage?
