remember the word AI is always a misnomer, it means nothing. Basic app programming was called AI at one point, as was hardware computing of image stuff using basic filters, as was so many other things. AI just means “when you’re impressed with how smart the computer is being”, or in the context of today, “what i have to add at the end of every product or sentence to get the investor to give me money”

Now that I think about it I remember when video game npcs were called ai.
