I have been thinking for some time that that movie needs to be remade more accurately. The problem is how heavily reliant the story is on wrong behaviors, like Tyrannosaurus only seeing movement. One could reportray the looks of the dinosaurs without changing the story, but fixing that would require a major rewrite.

Suggesting 3 separate pieces of software as a replacement for Discord is just flat out insane. No regular user is going to install 3 separate things and try to keep them all in sync just to have all the features everyone is used to in Discord. Any true Discord replacement has to do everything in one app.

I mean people might then just set up for what comes the closest, even if it doesn’t have all the cord’s functionalities. Though the exodus could encourage the platforms to add more features the fled from is known for.

I use Stoat (which I didn’t see mentioned), it has most Discord features people regularly use from what I can tell.

They don’t have federation or self-hosting (without losing your sanity) so all switching to it does is just restart the waiting sequence until they get mad with power (and enough users) and start the enbelgiumtification process all over again.

I mean steam seems to have been resistant to “en-belgium-tification” so it’s not impossible for a big platform to not suffer from it
