The ranking is like kardashev scale but used in biological terms, simply put:
0- inorganic
1- microbial
2- multicellular
3- aware
4- awakening(ends here since sapience is achieved)
Example: E.colli would be at around 1.1-1.4, being a prokaryotic cell with basic organelles such as flaggelums
Example #2 : Jellyfish would be at around 2.3, having a very rudimentary nervous system
mmmm… not sure if a spinosaurus would be 3.6, because that is the transition to awakening, which means that the creature would have to be rather intelligent to get a 3.6
Edit: are you sure spinosauruses are aware?

they are very structurally complex and otherwise advanced, but yeah, 3.5 would prolly work better
