Could You attach a zooid that’s similar to an eye onto one of the Isekai protagonists and intentionally let them escape so that we can gather information?

That would be easier said than done, as it would have to leave and return back to base in order for any intel to be retrieved. And it would have to be unnoticed both when collecting intel and when making the trek back to base so as to avoid being destroyed.
