Survival in the Forum

Scientific name: Fabula haler

nickname: Big Guard

Mutation 1: The manipulatory limbs become covered in thick scales to protect them from the attacks of the creatures that are being killed.

Mutation 2: Develops a bigger size to better fight other creatures.

oh i thought you meant i got it on even rounds

Edit: fixed it

what size category would something the size of a small post be placed in? and what about one the size of a medium or large post?

In category after huge, that being 3.5x Strenght and 0.5x Stealth

In category after that, 4x strenght and 0.25x stealth.

at what size category would stealth go up instead of down?

It’s the smaller you are, the less strength you have but the greater your stealth, and the larger you are, the more strength you have but the poorer your stealth

Round 7 - Year 0, Month 7

While strategies of the creatures turn more diverse, users are now near yet another decision which may put an end to this strange biota…

Species

@Teaking - Multipoda TeaKinges, “The Crawler” - HO

  • Tiny Omnivore

Mutations: Sound Antennae (+1 Stealth), Extra Muscle Speed (+1 Speed)

Multipoda has recently adapted a pair of tentacles which have been specialized for feeling vibrations in forum’s air. It’s tentacle muscles now also allow for faster movement, aiding this omnivore in hunting.

@fralegend015 - Fabula Haler, “Big Guard” - HO

  • Small Aggresive Herbivore

Mutations: Size Increase (Small Size), Scales (+1 Strenght), (+1 UU due to Action Clarity)

While it is still a herbivore only capable of eating letters and symbols, Fabula has been evolving towards increasingly predator-like lifestyle. It has increased it’s size greatly, now being as large as a small letter. It too has became covered in protective scales, which act as a shield when desperate creatures are thrown by it into the freezing void below. With it’s larger size, users now see it’s actions as clearly in favour of the forum’s people.

Statistics:

Dichorisare has evolved some camoflague to hide itself, aswell as an exoskeleton-like structure which makes it more durable. However, those new traits do not completely shield this species from it’s predator, Multipoda TeaKinges.

Like D. Hemozore, F. Antelectum has evolved it’s reproductive strategy into generating more variable offsprings. This species has also developed harder skin to protect it while it’s hibernating. However, Multipoda TeaKinges still finds preying on this species an easy task, making it’s populations decline.

Mutation 1: Size increase, for User Clarity, their ability to see my species cuteness better, and hopefully Predator deterrence

Mutation 2: Digging Claws, allowing my species to properly remove the substance of spam posts, before using their powerful bodies to leap to a new post to hibernate. These claws can also be used to defend from predators like “Crawlers”

Mutation 3: Soil Nutrition extraction, allowing it to gain some nutrients from eating soil before disposing of the soil in the void. Allows it to gain extra nutrition from destroying the body of spam posts while also being viewed in an even more positive light.

M1: compressible hydrogen bladders
M2: gliding wings to allow control of movement in air
M3: cute eyes(for user usefulness and increased perception)

my idea for the hydrogen bladders is that they have to compress them to move quickly as the wings are only gliding wings but they fall because of it and they can only move fast for a certain distance before having to move slow to go back up, and the default state for the bladders would be compressed, also to allow getting back on posts after getting yote

the wings and hydrogen bladder combo with eyes would also make evading predation easier by allowing my species to jump off posts when threatened and the hydrogen would make the users get their cursors moved back and\or damaged by an explosion if they decide to cut a member of my species.

i feel like a mutation complexity system would be useful, with the mutation complexity stat controlling the amount of things that can be in one mutation and allowing faster adaptation without really adding too much speed on the evolution of some species

in this in game forum does the forum automatically delete posts that say “(post was deleted by author)”? if not i will take that niche eventually, or maybe form a symbiotic relationship with twilight’s species to remove deleted posts by bringing members of the species to deleted and spam posts,

Mutation 1: Epigenetic manipulation which allows for the organism to slightly control their evolution instead of relying on purely random mutations (in case you are wondering this exists in real life and pretty much every organism does it)

Mutation 2: Chambered stomach to extract the most energy from letters, decreasing the amount of letters it needs to eat.

EVENT

(Removed to not take up forum space)

Severity - 3/4 (-3 conservation status)

While many of the creatures started to appear increasingly more appealing to forum’s users, the folks who believe that those organisms should be wiped off forum once and for all have consolidated into a large “anti-creature” group, with it’s goal being eliminating all of Limagriseuses descendants, no matter their usefulness to the forum. A dark age has struck the biota…

Species

@Teaking - Multipoda TeaKinges, “The Crawler” - ID

  • Small Omnivore

Mutations: Size Increase (Small Size), Spiky Skin (+1 Strenght)

Before the great hunt began, Multipoda has became larger and developed a spiky skin for protection from Fabula. It’s now the most fearsome lifeform in the forum.

Having high statistics, Multipoda managed to retain it’s populations in multiple topics following the event, however the species overall has been still badly damaged as a whole.

Mutations: Epigenetic Manipulation (+0,5 Mutations / Round), Chambered Stomach
I won’t allow more than 2.5 Mutations / Round.
Fabula has recently evolved a way of somewhat manipulating it’s evolution, increasing amount of useful mutations. It has also developed more complex digestive system, with a chambered stomach which helps this organism extract nutrient’s from forum’s vegetation.

Having lost it’s status as the top predator, Fabula has been reduced to a small population in one topic. The Group’s users found a way to take an advantage over low speed of this species, and Multipoda is more predatory than ever. It must evolve well for this kind to survive.

Mutations: Bitter Taste (+1 Strenght), “Reflectors” (+1 Stealth)

Dichorisare has developed to store up a bitter substance in it’s flesh, making Multipoda discard hunting this species. It has also developed a rather unique feature - Bioluminescent spots which kind of look like hazy letters from above. This creature has also developed it’s evil face to look like Multipoda, the new apex predator of this strange land.

Dichorisare has been affected to the event, but it managed to survive in many topics.

  • Tiny Herbivore

Mutations: Compressible Hydrogen Bladders (+1 Walking Speed, +1 Flying Speed), Wings (+1 Flying Speed), Cute Eyes (+0.5 Stealth, +0.5 UU)

D. Hemozore was the first species to have achieved flight. Having developed hydrogen bladders, wings and more complex eyes, it was able to somewhat maneuver in the air. Fabula has been stopped from hunting and throwing every individual of this species into the void below.

After recovering into HO state after development of flight, the hunt made the species fall back to ID+ state, and after that The Group took an advantage over the slow speed of this species both in air and on ground and lack of strenght to fight off the deadly cursors. Populations of this species have dwindled under one last specimen was left.

And then a cursor came in and sliced it in half.

Mutations: Size Increase (Small Size), Soil Removing Claws (+1 Strenght), Soil Nutrition Extraction (+1 UU), (+1 UU due to action clarity)

Like it’s cousin Fabula, F. Antelectum has evolved to become larger, around the size of a small letter. It has developed claws specialized for removing the substance of spam posts, allowing it to eat roots of the vegetation and aiding the users even more. It’s diet now includes the Soil of posts, which seems to be regenerating with nutrients when inside a post. It’s the most liked species in the forum.

Too like it’s relative, The Group took advantage of this species’ low speed, and reduced it’s population to a single topic. It’ll have to adapt well in order to survive. It’s also under a large predation pressure from Multipoda.

Edit:

Sucks that Willow’s species got out, seemed rather sudden/outside of their control. Maybe when one would go extinct they get one more round or something to try to survive, but if one doesn’t make up whatever deficit made them pass away they then truly die?
