Darkblur - Dichorisare Bontopius, “The Swarm” - ER

  • Medium Mist-Aligned Omnivore, Controlled by Darkblur

Mutations: Targetting (Targets which species to slow down, success chance increased), Mistprotector X 2 (+2 to every statistic vs covenant members)
DBM: -

D. Bontopius swarms were busy developing new abilities this month, most importantly reinforcing the newly-acquired species slowdowns with selective targetting, being able to choose which species to prioritize, increasing the success rate of the slowdown actions on those species. This came in clutch as soon after being developed, a large group of wallcrabs raided all across swarmling-inhabited territories, not just adapting the advantagetaking mutation but infact taking it away completely from this species! After that, the swarms became invested in increasing their overall statistics against those of the species of the powerful covenant. As so, they became more devoted to protecting the mist forces than ever in the days leading up to their final demise, gaining some edges against the hostile species. Strangely enough, darkblur wasn’t present to aid this species this month, with some users again reporting it wandering around the forum, as if searching or waiting for something…
With the mistorb sending a SOS signal, all the swarms knew what they had to do, as they rushed to the source of the emergency call. When they arrived, they saw the entire trench system around the mistvault filled to the brim with hostile entities - warbots. The united swarms attempted to tear through these robots, getting closer and closer to the orb they thought lies inside the vault and getting increasingly deeper into the trench system…
While the mechanical beings weren’t able to truly harm the greatly protected swarmlings, this changed as a few dozen shockwaves from all around the trench system reached and vapourized the swarmlings - while they didn’t realize it, the entire setting was a trap! In just a second or two, from a healthy species remained no alive individuals, as D. Bontopius would go down in history as the last species loyal to the mist… But not the last non-mist entity to be allied to it.

@fralegend015 - Fabuloid Spiritusvivi, “Archmage” - HO

  • Small Omnivore, Species’ God in control of The Mistorb

Mutations: Vassalization Soul, Inject VS into the Mistorb (Results: See Mistorb Report)

Albeit the actions of the archmages and Deus were slowed down because of the swarm, it didn’t stop them from achieving what they wanted for who knows how long now: Putting a stop to the mist and it’s various forms. With help of the cat-beast brethen from the covenant alliance of species, Deus managed to create a soul which’s purpose is to allow this god to gain control over the Dark Orb now hidden in a PM thread. The next obvious step was to get the soul into the orb itself, that however required transporting the injector device into the PM and opening up the vault atop the orb. The later step, for the better or the worse, didn’t end up being needed in the end as the blob of matter detected 2 months ago near the top of the mysterious sphere finally breached the shell much like Darkblur did many months ago and escaped the PM before anyone, users or creatures, could do anything about it, leaving the mistorb exposed from above. Quickly enough the injector was lifted in position and the soul was, well, injected into the shape.
Deus, having built connections with the soul now inside the orb, could tell that it gained lots of control over the orb, now being able to give it orders of it’s own, but it seems like just telling the sphere to unaliven itself won’t work - despite being controlled, it still has goals of it’s own…

@willow - Cancrorum Venenatorum, “Venomous Wall Crab” - HO

  • Small Herbivore + Parasite

Mutations: Mutavenom Upgrade (+1 Strenght), Mutasteal (Can steal other species’ mutations, tied to dice), Mutasteal D. Bontopius Hunt (5/6)
DM: Warbot Production

C. Venenatorum has improved greatly over the “mutavenom” it originally invented to persuade mistdom species from attacking the wallcrabs, with this feature now being able to be used in hunts for giving other species mutations, which might not be beneficial. An offshoot of the mutavenom, being called “Mutasteal” by the RC researcher users, is an another ability developed this month, which allows the side surface crustaceans not just to adapt mutations of other species, but infact even to remove those very mutations from the hunted species, through the chances of these hunts achieving their goals is not always 100%. Taking the shot, a large hunting party of C. Venenatorum formed with it’s goal being hunting the swarmligns for their Advantagetaking mutation before they “get exploded”, as Deus told the leaders of the wallcrab kin. The hunt did manage to succeed, with the feature allowing a species to hunt other ones if they only have 1 base statistic in advantage over the advantagetaking species, but a problem has arosen: There are no longer any hostile species present in the forum…
Amidst the feature being stolen, the previously mentioned Deus hired a bunch of wallcrabs alongside many crawlers for production of the warbot army needed to fool the mistdom forces when they attack the false mistvault, as per the plan. Those two groups from two species belonging to two different, ancient lineages worked in tandem as the robots were being assembled, part by part, until the entire army stood before the construction crews.
