Survival in the Forum

Round 58 - Year 5, Month 0

As the users of the Prosper forum celebrate the half-a-decade period of creature presence in the forum, whenever good or bad from the viewpoints of the forum organizations and the users making them up, an unlikely alliance forms within the forum clad - as the forces of the species present here since the beginning, the being resulting from an “ancient” ritual to rid the forum of the creatures and 9 refugees from other forums who found home in this safe one team up, even if temporarily and never again, against the one entity that has invaded the forum with a clearly malicious purpose in mind - Corrosion.

Forum Reclamation Front now can release cursor upgrades any moment…

Non-Species Entities

Misc. Group

CORROSION STATUS:
-??? HP
-Unknown Abilities, suspected to be powerful
-Looks like a mass of mechanical parts, of which many are rather sharp, coated mostly with plates the color of Friedrick, ever morphing with the sharper parts rising above and under the surface of the being all the time. Size of The Devourer (1.5x Huge Size).
-A powerful source of Divine Energy

Action: Find Covenant Centres

Corrosion was just fooling around for a while after it’s arrival, but what was said needs to be done - the forum’s creatures can’t be allowed to listen to it’s Master afterall without it knowing. It’s time to get serious. Corrosion would soon find the most important Covenant facilities, of which the jewel was the new trench PM and the Laboratory residing within. Corrosion has however noticed that life seems to be missing from the PM, atleast at first glance, and when the entity looked back to the “normal” part of the Forum, it noticed a group forming in a distant part of the thread the brown-ish entity was in. Corrosion would slowly head in direction of that grouping, which grew as the entity moved closer, until it could notice what was making up the gathering - at the front there was the Empiricator, and behind it there were three teams of entities, seemingly working as one - at one end, there was an one-being team, that being Darkblur, while in the center there were standing the major gods of the Covenant species, ready to fight to their death. At the other end of there was a team, or rather a band, made of nine entities - those were the Outsiders. It seems like a battle between Corrosion and all these is imminent…

Outsider Group

STARGUN STATUS:
-10/10 HP (Regen: 2HP/Round)
-Has two abilities: Jumping High and Far, and Shooting From It’s Gun
-Looks like a rifle-like gun installed ontop of a starfish-like being
-Appears to have been created from two different entities

STUMPSPAWN STATUS:
-?? HP
-Suspected to have 2 abilities (needs more research)
-Looks somewhat like a stump, with 4 large legs used for walking and 4 smaller, more upward-facing “roots” between the legs, and a bark-like texture. The top of the being is occupied by a large strusture which looks like a closed flower the color of a pink rose
-Appears to have been created from two different entities

SHARPWING STATUS:
-?? HP
-Suspected to have 2 abilities (needs more research)
-The main body appears to have lots of sharp, spear-like appendages at the bottom and on the sides, at the top there are two pairs of wings attatched to a bulge running the length of the entity. Always flying.
-Appears to have been created from two different entities

SPADEBUG STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like some sort of a beetle, the tips of it’s legs are tipped with sharp spearheads through

SANITIZER STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a blob with 8 octopus-like tentacles, which in themselves have hollow cones at their ends, opening up from the side of their bases.

SERPHANT STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a fiery snake with 3 pairs of insect-like wings at the top of it’s body which allow it to fly somewhat

SHIELDSWORD STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a shield-shaped hybrid of an isopod and a tortoise, possessing two large “blades” in the narrow section of the shield which have a surprisingly large degree of movement and rotation.

SONAR STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a tripod table, but instead of the table surface there’s a sphere at the top of the “torso”

SPEEDER STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a very thin spider or even a harvestman, known to be able to reach quite the impressive velocities.

Band Action: Go after Corrosion

The news of a new, powerful entity entering the forum quickly reached the group of nine thanks to the TOR userbase, which remains as humble as it was back during the formation of that organization. It appears that the band was discussing what should be done between eachother for a few weeks even, before all opinions aligned suddenly one day near the month’s end - All the outsiders left the safe TOR PM and headed for the location where they were told the brown-ish entity is expected to be at. Not long after they arrived at the site, with the major gods of all the forum species ariving at this spot too. Amongst them too happened to be Devourer, but this is not the time to start fighting eachother. The nine could already feel that something huge is going to happen right in this spot. They saw the empiricator before them gazing into where one inside the forum could hear mechanical noises slowly approaching. And just then, the last visitor to this site appeared - Darkblur that was.

Mistdom Group

DARKBLUR STATUS:

-60/60 HP (Regenerates 5 HP per Month[Round])
-Insanely fast, can scale hundreds of posts in seconds
-Looks like a disturbing pseudo-humanoid figure within a “dark bubble”
-One known offensive ability - “Hypnosis” (can convert weaker-minded entities to it’s side)
-Suspected to have attained more abilities following it’s absorption of The Mistorb, only time will tell what they are…
-By far the most powerful member of The Mistdom, EVER
-Fused with the soul of a rather obsessed, insane mistdom-aligned user
-Has some users on it’s command (unknown to other community members)
-Has two action votes it casts every Month(Round)
-Controls BSA (which is given an order by darkblur every month [round])

Action 1: Study Corrosion (2/6)
Action 2: Go after Corrosion
BSA Action: Exert more influence over loose-r members (4/6)

Darkblur would become interested in what’s been going on with this new entity that entered the forum the previous month, and so it went around and asked the members of BSA who are rather loyal to the blur what’s been going on with the visitor. While the information gathered was scarce, it did say that the mechanical being seems to possess weaponry of the melee kind alongside immense power, as said by some of the MwTC members in the forum wilderness, beyond the PMs. The blur would then command BSA to start expanding it’s control over they outer layers of the alliance, most importantly getting more people to join the core, cult-like even part of the alliance from these less darkblur-affiliated spaces. Surely enough, significant success is what BSA achieved when doing this, although the surface layer is still standing, even if a lot thinner than before. Lastly, Darkblur would decide to see for itself what the mysterious Corrosion being was like for itself and went to a thread where they loyal members of BSA told they last saw the entity before it disappeared unexpectedly into thin air. When the blur arrived at this place, it was two groups of entities already present there - one made of the majormost gods of the Covenant alliance, and the other made of the members of the outsider band, already studied by the dark figure. In the distance blur would see Corrosion approaching the site - a battle is sure to start in a few moments…

Species

NPC - Sapiepoda TeaKinges, “The Crawler” - HO

  • Medium Omnivore

Mutations: Sacrifices-For-Strenghtening X 3 (+3 Strenght)
DM: Empiricator Attack

S. TeaKinges society has started doing more potentially dangerous experiments following the invention of the leg-wings, as the idea of inventions first appearing dangerous only to become useful after some research spread like wildfire in the communities of this species. Many crawling projects heading this way however would soon end in death for whoever was running them, because as it turns out running dangerous projects doesn’t mean there won’t be too many deaths on the way to stop all trying to see if the experiments are worth it. Amongst all this, a group of crawlers arose, which postulated a rather radical approach - as soul energy is a well-known thing now, especially in the research communities of the TeaKinges kind, the group proposed that by killing some of the weaker or the elderly, their souls could be transferred into the souls of more promising and/or youth warriors, which would absorb the said souls and so become stronger, more formidable when fought against. Pretty much all scientists at first however considered this an attempt at creating a devourer-like cult at first, but as weeks passed, one or two would end up expressing their interest for the sacrifices. Very soon, the validity of the radical theorists would be confirmed, and the results would soon be handed out to the leaders of the Sapiepodal kin. To make sure the research wouldn’t result in immediate society collapse across this species, the leadership decided to make a set of rules defining who may be slain for their souls to be transferred to others. By the time of the 5th anniversary, the sacrifices have spread far and wide in the crawling civilization, resulting in rather strong, sometimes demigod-like even warriors emerging…
During the adoption of the sacrificial methods, Deus would order some of the researchers this covenant species has to offer, none of which were the ones working on the soul-transferring, to send a brand-new entity crafted by this very god against Corrosion. Alongside the Empiricator would go the warrior-god, aswell as all other major species gods, for this confrontation might be the one to save the forum from a force possibly worse than the blur itself…

@doomlightning - Neodichorisare Cogitandi, “Divider” - HO

  • Small Herbivore

Mutations: Weak-Assimilation (+1 Strength), GEM-Bombs (+1 Strenght), Sight-Sharing (+1 Stealth to ALL Covenant species)
DM: Whitehole Horizons (1/6)

Nd. Cogitandi would go on to “adapt” two inventions made by other species to itself this month - firstly, it got the idea from the Darrens of making bombs, and with GEM requiring large amount of energy to be made, it didn’t take long before some divider suggested that the metal could be used for generating massive exposing, even though they would most likely not get any more powerful than cybernuke explosions. Some tests were ran in more obscure threads as to not disturb the moderators of the site due to large explosions occurring, and the results were indeed acceptable as a legitimate use of GEM. Soon enough smaller chunks of the sacred metal would start being used like grenades for instance. Later the month, some crawling scientists would come and share their sacrifice technology with their dividerling equivalents, thankful for the much sharing that has greatly improved the stealth statistic of all the covenant member species. With this research now in hands of the Neodichorisarid kin, it didn’t take long before weaked individuals of the species started to go missing, as their friends were unaware that who they liked has been merged with a more promising specimen of the diving brethren. Lastly, thanks to the properties of GEM, the dividers could link up their eyes with the neural systems of other species, meaning that intelligence can now be shared directly when it involves the Cogitandids, without relying on the ultra-fast robots for instance.
Deus, the well-known god of the highest mage species, would order the divider scientists to find a way to make the event horizon bubbles, which are mostly created by some of the darrenling weapons, have their direction of “enclosement” reversed, so that the bubbles can’t be entered anymore. Unfortunately for Deus, it seems like all the scientists of this species had their souls consumed for the cause of stronger individuals emerging - a result of not having the soul-consumption moderated, like how it is in the crawler society.
The metal-god would leave the population center of the dividers where it used to reside, for it was called to join up with other major covenant gods in their mission to stop Corrosion

@CatSquared - Multipoda Cat-Bestiae, “Cat Beasts” - UC

  • Tiny Omnivore

Mutations: Devourling M-Increase (4/6), Corrosion Defense (6/6, -2 Divine Population damage to ALL Covenant species)
DM: Soil-Harvester (6/6) (+1 Strenght)

M. Cat-Bestiae cultists and their culted one, The Devourer, would go on and modify the mutation-increasing techniques and technology to better suit the Devourling Crabs for when their time has come to upgrade them to have a much more respectable mutation and species-wide action rate - this move came after the large success of the mad beast mutation/action-increasing initiative. Much more important over the course of this month however would be the attempts at creating a good degree of protection against Corrosion, an entity suspected to be somewhat divine in nature atleast. Having heard of what sort of abilities gods can bolster in the real world from the users’ discussions, the Devourer would end up concluding that the best way to save a populace from a god’s wrath is to hide and disperse it over areas where the divinelings expect it the least to hide. This conclusion would soon too be agreed upon by leaders of other covenant species and so the procedures it predicts incase of a godly attack would be taught to all covenant children from this point on, in hopes that if a divine being attacks this forum, atleast some will hide for long enough for the entity to lose it’s interest and leave before all have been culled.
Deus would meanwhile order some cultists once more to create a soil-harvesting machine, which they prototyped and assembled very quickly unlike last month when no cult members were around to carry out the given task. Not just that, but the experience of making the harvester would lead some of the cultists which worked on it to also develop new weapons, unseen before in the forum - Scythes…
Like all other major species gods the covenant has to offer, The Devourer would too leave it’s species temporarily in order to challenge Corrosion. However, as this god isn’t all that suited for combat, a troop of cat-beasts, cultist crabs and mad-beasts would come alongside this species-god, where they would soon come face-to-face with the new visitor…
