Survival in the Forum

Round 38 - Year 3, Month 3

Another month has passed, and things are starting to look incresingly bad for The Mistworm…

MISTWORM STATUS:

  • 20/40 HP
  • LEVEL 3 - can take away 1 Mutation and 3 Conservation Points from up to 2 species EACH ROUND (basing on Mistworm Action)
  • Regenerates 4 HP / Round after it gets damaged
  • Has a Fief - D. Bontopius; It give The Mist a tribute if it’s dealt more damage than it can tolerate, where 1 Conversation Point = 1 HP.
  • Has undead swarms on it’s command.
  • Directly controls armies of M. Yuyimus brought back from extinction, can submit a tribute like a fief.
  • Directly controls armies of C. Caligovermis, also can function like a fief.
  • Develops a mutations once per two rounds.
  • Commands one action every round.
  • Has armour which makes each attack take 1 less damage

+9 HP from tributes, fiefs need a while to be able to be fully harvested again

Mistworm MA: Defend Self Again (-3 damage from this attack)
Undead MA: (Rolled 2/6 - Fail)

MMs/MAs have 1/3 chance to fail for the undead and 1/4 for all other Mistdom members, except for the mistworm

The worm experienced an yet another attack, but now with scales on the worm’s skin it’s sure to receive atleast somewhat less damage…

THE THIRD BATTLE

(Rolled 6, 4, 1, 6, 4, 6, 4, 6)

(7+6+0+4+5+6+1+3+4=36 7x2=14 14+3=17 36-17=19 19-4=15)

This battle was more similar to the first one, being far more successfull for the covenant. With great performance of the key covenant species and aid from the users, the worm has suffered heavy damage, and might be preparing for some sort of a retreat to protect itself soon, especially as it has gathered the tribute from it’s fiefs…

Species

NPC - Sapiepoda TeaKinges, “The Crawler” - OP

  • Medium Omnivore

Mutations: Extra Attack The Mistworm, Better Anti-Mistworm Strategies (+2 damage against the Mw.), Soul Circuit Upgrade (+1 Stealth)
DM: Attack the Mistworm

S. TeaKinges has developed better strategies against the worm. It also developed more robust soul circuits, making the species at roughly the same level of intelligence as the cat-beasts.
Deus ordered this species to attack the worm, which has gained large support in societies of this species, having even more soldiers sent to the battlefield.

Statistics:

  • Speed - 22/11
  • Stealth - 24*(2) = 48
  • Strenght - 29*(2.5) = 82.5 (83.5) (Venom)
  • User Usefulness - 0 (1)
  • Mistdom causes 3 less population damage, Deals +5 Damage against The Mw.

Mutations: Hardware research, Mist Destroying Program, Inject the MDP

Deus tried to see if it’s possible to get energy from the hardware the forum itself is stored in, however after a few attempts it became clear that not only are the forum creatures forbidden from going to other websites, but they also cannot explore past the “software” part of the forum.
Deus then created and injected a program which causes damage the worm’s scales, making it less protected, as long as the injector stays active. M. Yuyimus However took advantage of the fact that the device is relatively unprotected and disabled it until the next month…

The Mistworm - Multipoda Yuyimus, “Centipede” - ID

  • Medium Mist-Controlled Omnivore

Mutations: Attack the Injector (6/6), Distract the Covenant X 2

This Month M. Yuyimus was more active than evolving, commiting fully to disabling the Injector (until ROUND 39) and distracting the attacking covenant forces…

The worm took lots of population of this species as a tribute for healing.

Round 39 - Year 3, Month 4

Another battle takes place, this time triggering the Mistworm to change it’s form…

MISTORB STATUS:

-??? HP
-Still sends orders to D. Bontopius
-Cannot do much itself in this form

Mistworm MA: Metamorphosis
Mistworm Mutation: Transformation

MMs/MAs have 1/3 chance to fail for the undead and 1/4 for all other Mistdom members, except for the mistworm

The Mistworm has seemingly entered a new form after being nearly killed in a battle this month…

THE FOURTH BATTLE

(10 + 4 + 7 + 2 + 6 + 5 = 34 | 2+3+2+1+4 = 13 | 34 - 13 = 21)

This battle looked somewhat like the first one, with the mistworm leaning towards the final defeat. However, just about when covenant was close to finishing off the worm, the Mistworm seemingly took it’s last chance to survive.

All the undead, mistworm crabs, centipedes and a good part of D. Bontopius flew towards the worm and in a blink of an eye they were floating just before it. The strange bubble surrounding the Deus node soaked in darkness also came to this scene. The fighting has stopped, even if for a second…

Suddenly all the lesser objects merged into the Mistworm, as the whole congregation started to be surrounded by a large, dark membrane. In just a few seconds the whole area where the worm and it’s fiefs were located has been encased by the same strange surface which previously surrounded the worm’s loot. As the covenant armies tested, this barrier is apparently completely indestructible, but it looks like something is brewing inside of the orb…

NPC - Sapiepoda TeaKinges, “The Crawler” - ID

  • Medium Omnivore

Mutations: Forum-Wide Organization (+1 Stealth), Anti-Mistworm Mobilization (+1 Strenght, +1 Damage against the Mw.)
DM: Mega-Attack the Mistworm

S. TeaKinges’s populations have finally created a coherent forum-wide organizative web which is better at administering various things. One of the first things it did was making mobilization laws which allowed the species to recruit more soldiers to fight the worm, something quite useful when Deus ordered this species to again “mega-attack” the worm…

Mutations: Clones (3/6, +2 Strenght), Creature Modification (1/6)
DM: Mega-attack the Mistworm

M. Cat-Bestiae has been experimenting with the cyberspace prior to having sent a large part of it’s population to fighting the worm. On one hand it failed to develop create-modifying scripts, but on the other part cloning techniques have been developed. These clones seem to be sterile due to imperfections in the technique, but still they make the species a lot stronger as a whole…

Mutations: Destroy the MDP (3/6), Spy in the chatrooms (-3 mistworm battle damage)
MM: (Rolled 1/4 - Fail)
MA: (Rolled 1/4 - Fail)

D. Bontopius decided to destroy the mist-destroying program, managing to erase it from the injector device, albeit Deus still retains it’s plans and can reimplement it any moment. At the same time, the chatrooms have been proven to be a great source of information for the mistworm, even tho the worm itself didn’t send any commands to the swarm this month…

@willow - Cancrorum Venenatorum, “Venomous Wall Crab” - ID

  • Small Herbivore + Parasite

Mutations: Chatrooms (+1 Stealth), Vaporization (+1 Strenght)
DM: Mega-attack the Mistworm

C. Venenatorum was behind creation of the chatrooms where the users and the creatures of the forum could communicate with each other, exchanging lots of information. Besides that, a new ability was developed which turns members of the mistdom into power to be consumed by the anti-mist. The users who saw this ability being used in the chatrooms dubbed it as “Vaporization”.
This species sent lots of members of the species to fight the worm, as commanded by Deus.

The Mistorb seems to be waiting for something to happen… I wonder what that is…

:belgium: it’s evolving

M1: attempt to work with deus to vaporize the mistorb
M2: attempt to give the users feature theft they can use via a drop down menu in the chat rooms
M3: perform a ritual to awaken the anti-mistworm

BTW just telling you, with three mutations of soul circuits you may achieve sapience at this point.

Looks like we already have waterbenders and firebenders are coming too now…

Edit: @fralegend015 and @doomlightning I need your votes.

Can I use the injector to inject stuff inside the mist ball?
