M1: store knowledge and backups of long term memories in soul energy reserves(memories can bee burned if necessary to stay alive)
M2: SS souls can reproduce by summoning a copy of themselves with any changes they know how to make
M3: a group of SS souls ditch all of the information coding for traits only useful for their physical forms, drastically decreasing their energy cost, but making them become a new species(only external physical traits, soul traits, mental traits, and cyberspatial traits carry over, this mutation only affects the new species)

Cat beasts:

  1. Try to figure out how to increase the mutations of the artificial species
  2. Send a single Avatar of the Devourer to confront the Outsiders
  3. Try to make bionic legs for that can run faster than normal legs for the covenant

Devourling Wall Crabs:

  1. Try to make robots that are faster than the dark blur.

Mad Beasts:

  1. Send half of them to spread out across the rest of the forum

Be noted that if this is successful, your base species will have to upkeep the resulting “cyber-species”, likely resulting in the max pop cap of the wall crabs being lowered.

the SS souls are specifically self sufficient souls tho? as in souls that can keep themselves alive?

I’d say normally they’d just drain a neglible amount of power if they weren’t made “weak”. Close to “self-sustainable”, but with no physical sources, they’d be doomed long-term if they chose to become “stronger”…

then their power limit when separated from creatures will have to be determined by how much energy they can get without a creature, and i already have a plan to make that be Drastically increased(related to e=MC^2(it will also function as an attack for souls who aren’t low on energy))

So “nuclear souls”, huh?

Why do I feel like that might backfire horribly?

Probably because annihilating the matter inside you tends to kill most things that do it

And that’s useless, unless the ones with the explosive properties are sent to explode in the face of a foe.

Why are we attacking the outsiders, and more importantly, why are we doing it one at a time instead of all at once?

They are coming for the covenant, and they may be powerful.

It’s more of a deterrence than anything.

More precisely, they’re coming for YOUr species

Because we attacked them first.

I’d rather not have to deal with the outsiders too.

2 against 1 is certainly worse than the current situation…

or you absorb most/all of the energy released(a trait i evolved early on, though i will likely have to improve it), and use it to fuel your body

Wouldn’t it be better to fuel this energy directly into the target instead of going through the process of creating a kamikaze which would lose energy over a direct link?

why would it be a kamikaze attack? wouldn’t the light and shockwave only disrupt the senses and energy levels of souls, since they’re not physical?

It still would be better to transfer energy directly since explosions tend to lose some energy…
