It’s been less than a week since the last round was posted, and just over a day since doom voted. I’m sure they just haven’t had time. I’ve actually been surprised at Aah’s fast pace for getting out rounds.
Round 8 - Year 0, Month 8
EVENT
(Removed to not take up forum space)
Severity - 3/4 (-3 conservation status)
While many of the creatures started to appear increasingly more appealing to forum’s users, the folks who believe that those organisms should be wiped off forum once and for all have consolidated into a large “anti-creature” group, with it’s goal being eliminating all of Limagriseuses descendants, no matter their usefulness to the forum. A dark age has struck the biota…
Species
@Teaking - Multipoda TeaKinges, “The Crawler” - ID
- Small Omnivore
Mutations: Size Increase (Small Size), Spiky Skin (+1 Strenght)
Before the great hunt began, Multipoda has became larger and developed a spiky skin for protection from Fabula. It’s now the most fearsome lifeform in the forum.
Having high statistics, Multipoda managed to retain it’s populations in multiple topics following the event, however the species overall has been still badly damaged as a whole.

- Small Aggresive Herbivore
Mutations: Epigenetic Manipulation (+0,5 Mutations / Round), Chambered Stomach
I won’t allow more than 2.5 Mutations / Round.
Fabula has recently evolved a way of somewhat manipulating it’s evolution, increasing amount of useful mutations. It has also developed more complex digestive system, with a chambered stomach which helps this organism extract nutrient’s from forum’s vegetation.
Having lost it’s status as the top predator, Fabula has been reduced to a small population in one topic. The Group’s users found a way to take an advantage over low speed of this species, and Multipoda is more predatory than ever. It must evolve well for this kind to survive.

@doomlightning - Dichorisare Chiozore, “Divider” - ID
- Tiny Herbivore
Mutations: Bitter Taste (+1 Strenght), “Reflectors” (+1 Stealth)
Dichorisare has developed to store up a bitter substance in it’s flesh, making Multipoda discard hunting this species. It has also developed a rather unique feature - Bioluminescent spots which kind of look like hazy letters from above. This creature has also developed it’s evil face to look like Multipoda, the new apex predator of this strange land.
Dichorisare has been affected to the event, but it managed to survive in many topics.

Mutations: Compressible Hydrogen Bladders (+1 Walking Speed, +1 Flying Speed), Wings (+1 Flying Speed), Cute Eyes (+0.5 Stealth, +0.5 UU)
D. Hemozore was the first species to have achieved flight. Having developed hydrogen bladders, wings and more complex eyes, it was able to somewhat maneuver in the air. Fabula has been stopped from hunting and throwing every individual of this species into the void below.
After recovering into HO state after development of flight, the hunt made the species fall back to ID+ state, and after that The Group took an advantage over the slow speed of this species both in air and on ground and lack of strenght to fight off the deadly cursors. Populations of this species have dwindled under one last specimen was left.
And then a cursor came in and sliced it in half.

Mutations: Size Increase (Small Size), Soil Removing Claws (+1 Strenght), Soil Nutrition Extraction (+1 UU), (+1 UU due to action clarity)
Like it’s cousin Fabula, F. Antelectum has evolved to become larger, around the size of a small letter. It has developed claws specialized for removing the substance of spam posts, allowing it to eat roots of the vegetation and aiding the users even more. It’s diet now includes the Soil of posts, which seems to be regenerating with nutrients when inside a post. It’s the most liked species in the forum.
Too like it’s relative, The Group took advantage of this species’ low speed, and reduced it’s population to a single topic. It’ll have to adapt well in order to survive. It’s also under a large predation pressure from Multipoda.

Update to the Round 3 UU/Stealth Rule: Only new cute features will remove stealth, and if they’re not related to stealth organs.
Expect that F. Antelectum’s user usefulness will spark something on 9th month since the letter-eating slug’s appearance.
Mutation 1: Large, Cute Lensed Eyes, like puppy dog eyes, enhancing vision to spot predators and cuteness.
Mutation 2: Muscle Enhancement, Solidifying its toughness and increasing its ability to run away/jump between posts
Edit:
Sucks that Willow’s species got out, seemed rather sudden/outside of their control. Maybe when one would go extinct they get one more round or something to try to survive, but if one doesn’t make up whatever deficit made them pass away they then truly die?
Such thing already exists in a form
Willow’s species was below 5 is two of three major statictics (Speed and Strenght)
so was that one member left a juvenile? because if not then it should’ve produced spores which would’ve had a chance of going into a letter with a closed area unless it was actively flying for most of its time alive and there were very dedicated members on the forum hunting down every last juvenile and spraying things into the forum, anyways if i can restart fromn someone else’s species i will restart by splitting off of twilight’s species and evolve burrowing to hibernate underground and re-evolve the symbiotic relationship with photosynthetic algae if those were taken into account, and if they weren’t and you forgot about the spores i feel it would be funnier to leave my species status as eradicated until next round, or if they were and you planned to make me go un-extinct that would be good as well, and if that will be the case i will evolve some of the leaf things into things that hold false letters that photosynthesize, and burrowing for false hibernation(basically just sleeping for a long time but not true hibernation so your body still needs close to as much food as you normally do).
i did have spores though, which means all members of my species that have leaves should be reproducing asexually, and most of the ones that survive hide in closed letters when they are juveniles so there shouldn’t be any players able to reach inside the smaller areas in closed letters
Users have shared the forum with your species for Months, they would be aware of your species’ features and ways of getting around in troublesome situations. The Group isn’t stupid enought to just leave a species quasi-extinct, knowing that it will come back soon.
I didn’t read most of this, but even if your species has features that would technically let it survive, it doesn’t matter if according to the game mechanics it would have died out
I’m all for you being able to continue, don’t get me wrong, but an argument based on features, and not the mechanics that caused you to go extinct, is rather pointless
Edit: just fully read your post. I think it’s better to go forward with assuming that you fully died out, and to just split off of another species as you said
well the spores are microscopic, so without taking a microscope to every pixel of their screens i doubt the users could see the spores, and i doubt the people wanting all the creatures dead have the privileges to remove all the closed letters on the forum, and tbased on the development cycles of the thing that my species shares the most characteristics with the leaves should be fully developed before they leave the letters meaning that they would simply be cutting off my access to one of my MP by shortening my reproductive cycle so much i only reproduce via spores, and they probably can’t spray lysol through their screens and i doubt the head moderator would allow spraying an anti-life agent on the letters
i’m assuming that to be the case, i’m just prepared for if my spores and the subtraction of 1 MP because of not living long enough to use sexual reproduction were not both considered.
I think it will be better for you guys to figure out if Dichorisare Hemozore should be kept living or put dead
Teaking, Twilight, Fralegend, Willow and Doomlightning may vote here
- Dichorisare Hemozore Should Carry On
- Dichorisare Hemozore Should Be Extinct
Mutation 1: A behaviour in which when individuals detect a low population they start to reproduce faster in order to create more offspring to quickly increase the population to non-endangered levels at which point they slow down in order to avoid overpopulation.
Mutation 2: The muscles become more energy efficent, making them capable of turning an higher amount of chemical energy into kinetic energy and thus be stronger while not consuming more energy.
You only upgraded your respiratory and circulatory system once. You must do it twice in order to be able to evolve a tier 2 brain or medium size
I changed it.
Alright, 3 people voted on willow’s species surviving.
@willow I’ll allow you to continue to play as D. Hemozore, but you’ll have -1 M/R as your species can for now only reproduce asexually.
i will evolve burrowing to stay enough in the ground to not get killed by forum users
Doomlightning, Teaking, where are your mutations?
I forgor
M1: simple brain
M2: Stronger digging limbs
metoo:
M1: schooling
M2: Physical imitation (if not, add liver)
Round 9 - Year 0, Month 9
Following the Group’s ravage last month, it has calmed down, but keeps on hunting the creatures. On other hand, a group of other users has arisen, with the goal of protecting this forum’s unique biota. Now, both of those factions have got formal names - Forum Protection Group (FPG) and Biota Conservation Alliance (BCA). Outside of that, nine months after first life emerged in this place, some interesting things are happening.
Species
@Teaking - Multipoda TeaKinges, “The Crawler” - HO
- Small Omnivore
Mutations: Simple brain, Stronger Digging Limbs (+1 Strenght)
Multipoda is yet another genus which has developed a complex neural structure. It’s digging limbs have now became stronger than ever, now being able to act like clubs durning hunts and fights.

Mutations: Population Control (Extinction Evasion), Reinforced Muscles (+1 Strenght)
Under extreme pressure from Multipoda, Fabula ended up developing a special region in it’s brain for population control, which has the role of helping the species in time of crisis. Muscles of this genus have been reinforced by evolution to be more effective, and so stronger.
Still, having been outclassed by Multipoda in every aspect, the species is now on verge of extinction.
(Removed to not take up forum space)
Miraculously, the species survives the predation of users and Multipoda!

Mutations: Schooling, Physical imitation (+1 Stealth)
Dichorisare has made a quite critical step in terms of intelligence - specimens of this kind now school less experienced ones, using their memory cortex, and this behaviour has arisen not without a cause - Dividers’ Evil Face feature has expanded to cover their entire bodies, with them imitating Multipoda at the present. A great amount of time must be invested by those little fellows just to move somewhat like a Multipoda.

Seemingly despite all odds, D. Hemozore has came back from the dead. The species however struggles as a whole due to it’s current inability to reach adulthood and reproduce sexually. The asexually-reproducing juviniles of this kind have developed ability to dig into the soil using it’s leaves when threatened. It’s a miracle that this species is now back, but will it pass the test of time and predation?

The BCA will give everyone additional UU point, with their “real” point count shown in the brackets. It will go up along with how high has a species in biota went in terms of UU (5 UU gives 1 extra UU to all, 6 gives 2, 7 gives 3 etc., the extra will only increase on whole numbers).
Extinction Evasion feature has been added. If you have a feature which should theoreticaly make your species immortal (for instance, spores) and your species should be going extinct, a digital coin will be flipped. If it shows heads, you survive to next round as a NE- species. If it shows Tails, you go extinct. Amount of those EE features does not impact the chance of survival.
Name: Fabula cogito
Nickname: Niel’s Centismarts (called like this because they were first sighted in Niel’s posts. Also yes, I’m talking about Niel from the Doom-Only Forum Game, this is an official crossover now.)
Mutation 1: A vascular system which has severeal hearts throught the body used to transport blood, allowing for a better metabolism and therefore a more extensive muscular exertion.
Mutation 2: 6 set of specialized lungs along the lenght of the body which intake air from separate spiracles for better oxygen intake.
Mutation 3: The brain becomes more complex, allowing them to learn and adapt to dangers during their lifespan, making them capable of finding betters ways to avoid being predated and killing other creatures.
Also what is UU?
UU is User Usefulness
