Will the archaea phase also bring a population decrease?
Mutation 1: A fireproof, Ventogyrus-like tethered floater filled with steam, generated from fluid being evaporated via Firebending powers, grows from the top of the organism. This generates lift, via buoyancy of the less dense and hot steam, to allow the organism to completely detach from the seafloor and float for a short time in case of life-threatening danger. The reason it is only for a short time is because of vast amount of water required to be turned into steam in the large, Ventogyrus-like tethered floater cavity from Firebending powers. The Firebending level is not yet powerful enough to constantly generate the amount steam required for constant floatation.
Mutation 2: Evovle ability to produce, secrete, and recognize Lectins in a Lectin-based immune system. Lectins are a type of carbohydrate binding binding protein (found and used across all forms of life from viruses to animals) that have specificity for sugar groups, allowing for recognition of carbohydrates and glycosylated proteins. Lectins allow binding to specific cell types based on sugar moities, recognize chemical messagenging molecules, and recognition of self from foreign cells. This Lectin-based immune system with help deal with predatory and nonpedatory polyhedromorphic Healing Factor algae, parasitic multicellular Strengthening/Weakening plants, Gigantification Bacteria, and whatever powered Archaea are coming next.
Do more advanced mutation descriptions in this FG result in better overall improvements to a species?
No. I just want my mutations to be more rigorous in terms of detail for fun (because science!).
Oh, I was a bit worried in this regardβ¦
M1: Capitalize on microbial matsβ movement potential; use Sensory Possession to take control of these mats for movement and protection. Mobile colonies that can avoid disasters and seek better environments.
M2: Long-distance signaling through microbial mat movements, making large pressure waves to help with spore navigation and colony navigation.
I hope those wonβt be getting weaponized too soonβ¦
Arborea elegans Mutation 1: Ability to detach from the sea floor. This allows the organism eventually find a less crowded spot to survive, ideally where Xinuiningella rara and other mixed colony members might still live.
Arborea elegans Mutation 2: Have multiple βfrondsβ develop instead of just one main frond, similar to the cabbage-like Bradgatia of the original timeline. This allows greater absoption of food, greater production of Luceriferase/Luciferin, GFP, and Aequorin, greater collection of exogenous light that filters through the twilight zone of the ocean, and slightly better lift from deep ocean currents.
A second time, all votes come by so quickβ¦
I see. Technically, itβs not really an upgrade to be honest about the ability. If you notice, itβs more like βuse whatβs there and shape where itβs at into a different form.β Itβs just me having Sonicβs tentacles and just using it in a different way.
But feel free to argue with me on that.
My ability shouldnβt have this upgradability issue
That should be fine. The way you worded βupgraded sonic capabilitiesβ seemed like you were upgrading your powers.
So you basically restructured some sonic tentacles into an external starfish-like gizzard to help break down food more efficiently, allowing eating of larger pieces of food, and to help against parasites. Right?
Maybe when we get to upgrading our powers it should have a different action type, like maybe U instead of M?
Plant/Microorganism power list:
Magnetism Control, Phasing Ability, Gigantification, Minimization, Stun, Mimic, Entrance, Small distance teleportation, Resistance Enhancement, Strengthen/Weaken (active on other creatures), predation/carnovory, Rot, radiation emission, speed enhancement, phasing, foresight
Underwater Microorganisms RNG Roll β¦ 15. Underwater Archaea have gained the power of Phasing.
Protist power list:
Airbending, Healing Factor, Super Intelligence, Internal Space (allows for greater internal volume in another dimension), Unstructure (become a hyperflexible jelly-like being, greatly reducing damage), Destruct (Self Destruction, far greater magnitude than normally possible), Silence (reduces sound propagation to zero), Blindness (reduces visual stimuli to zero within the target), Coast (Frictional coefficient drops to zero, allowing continued movement through a medium), Viscous (Turns the medium surrounding them into a non-neutonian fluid), Mark (At the creatures passing, will leave a permanent etch into their resting place, which can strengthen same-specie creatures living near it)
Protist Boss RNG Roll β¦ 5. It gains the power of Unstructure (jelly-like to greatly reduce damage).
5 million years later, offshoots of predatory Polyhedromorphic algae has grown large in size due to lack of competition from other species. Population numbers of other species were severely diminished via this timelineβs Koltin Crisis. This results in Purple Protist Polyhedromorphs becoming the Apex predator of the Late Atla Periodβ¦
Thanobolus lucius (βDeathball Kingβ) β a meter-wide, hollow sphere-like Polyhedromorph Purple Protist with an opening on the bottom, and slowly moves by pulsing of many cilia and increase/decrease of hydrogen in its floatation bladder. Some cilia are also hardened and nonmoving to be spike-like cirri for defense. It secretes potent digestive enzymes and acid to kill and dissolve prey. Can βswallowβ dying prey whole.
Since the FIFA World Cup is going on, do you want a have a Boss Battle, or a FΓΊtbol Match?
- Regular Boss Battle.
- FΓΊtbol Match.
How would a futbol match with creatures so primitive even work like?
We just hit the βDeathballβ using our powers or movement.
So is the protist one team and everyone else is the other?
Precisely

Is it a battle for one point only?
Apparently, Belgium has been making waffles for 650 million years.
On a more realistic note, having an organism that looks like a waffle during the Ediacaran equivalent time period is not that far-fetched, since there was an Ediacaran organism (maybe animal) that looked like a Crueller doughnut. It might have even had possible sexual reproduction.
