What about just a few spikes along the sides, rather than all over the body? Is that ok?

Would making the small amount of spikes being bifurcated be allowed, or is that too much?

So is there ever a reason to skip on an evolution?

Not really. Kind of like how in Thrive there isn’t really a reason to not evolve because you don’t save up MP

You still need to evolve tolerances for that though

I normally ignore changing the tolerances until after I reach the surface. Then again, I play either easy or custom difficulty, so it might be more challenging to change tolerances on higher noncustomized difficulties.
