Deep into the planet, a sudden blast of force comes from below, quaking the entire planet.
Many high peaks and caverns will collapse, aswell, each player will take 3d4 damage to all structures and machines(But not drones).

Aswell, I’m changing the input output system to a recipe system for most machines.

Then an enormous beam of light seems to rise from the far west, and is followed by the thunder of a sudden explosion is felt deep beneath the ground. After the tower incident, you decide to take your time on the next drill. Trying to flush out the thoughts, you go into a sort of trance, snapping back into it with a brand new drill with an extreme luster and plenty time put into it.

You scan around the guardians, just outside where they would attack you. As you scan them, they seem to be made of an unknown alloys that you are unable to identify. While you were scanning them, they seem to scan you back for awhile. They conclude scanning you with glowing brighter and start beeping. Suddenly a intense beam of light come out of the tower, the tower starts to rise taller, and then drops, when it lands a massive explosion is felt from the core of the planet. After a massive quake, you take the chance to build a lumber mill to collect many of the trees killed after the quake. It is constructed just outside of your main area, collecting many of the fallen trees.

Survey the area(5):
You activate the drone, looking for anything interesting. You quickly spot a beam of light to the south, which is followed by a massive quake. A ways to the north you spot a strange black tower rise out of the ground, which you decide not to touch. A large number of trees have also been felled by the incident, revealing open land, on which you find many deposits of usable coal.

The new engine is enough to double the available power, providing plenty to use.

Scout Around(1):
After a beam of light is seen far north, you turn on the drone to see. It is quickly follow by a massive quake, which the nearby mountains absorb the majority of the force, crumbling sections of the mountains in the progress. Sending your drone to see this, you are greeted with strange bio-mechanical insects the size of cars investigated the occurance. Realizing that these are likely the same things as before, you make a quick evasive maneuver before getting melted with acid. You manage to get away before most of them notice, but a few do get some strikes(dealing 4% damage).

With power desperately needed, you attempt to construct a steam engine to fix the problem.
It is built on a flat patch of stone near the water, but the construction is interrupted by a massive quake causing the stone(and engine) to slip right into the water. You think you had lost the parts, but a few days later they wash back up on the island, only usable as scrap.

Scout for trees(6):
You decide some better trees than the ones you have is an order. Another island is found not far east, covered in a seemingly stranded species of broadleaf. These one seem different than some old data files would suggest, as this species seems to grow rather rapidly, far fast than would seem to be necessary on an island like this.

Event: A bright beam of light extremely far west is seen before the marsquake, you have no idea how this beam was caused, or how it relates to a quake.

After some tedious unfolding, the drill is simply wired up and iron can be harvested.

You send all your drones off in a pack, increasing the odds of good scanning.
Looking around, you at first find a rocky outcrop to the east, which contains small traces of coal.
Suddenly a bright beam of light appears to the far north, which is followed by heavy quaking.
Returning to base, you notice something that wasn’t there before, an ominous black tower south of the ice cave.

The new pump is built nearby on the aquifer, it is built easily and quickly connected to your pipe network.

Investigate the beacon(6):
You scout towards the beacon, crossing the previously found river and reaching the end of your range, this beacon is too far way to reach. But just because you can’t reach, doesn’t mean you can’t see. You fly as high up as you can. You are able to identify the location of a strange black tower in the very far distance, barely visible even with maximum zoom. This seems to be in the location of the beacon. With further looking, you are able to see something, a small ruin with a large amount of heat detected. Scouting at max zoom, you are able barely see a small metal structure on it.

With it being a time of desperate need, you attempt to build another drill to keep yourself from starving. Sadly, the terrain has become difficult to cross, as it is littered with dead trees. The construction bots have incredible trouble getting any resources into place, and the drill is abandoned.

Repair Within Reason:
You ponder using some of your limited stock to make some repairs to this place, as everything is rusted and cracked. But you soon realize that you will need a refinery to get any new resources, and if you repair now that you would have spelt out your demise. So you ultimately decide against trying, and just leave this place as is.

Survey for enviroment changes(1):
You attempt to find anything of importance changed by this incident. Certainly a change, not a good one. You scout the area, seeing many fallen trees and broken hills, until you find some kind of sink hole. This hole is seemingly into an ancient cave, opened for the first time in millenia. The hole is large enough for a drone to get through and back. Examining the cave, hissing is heard all around, this is when you notice strange webbing along the wall. The drone is suddenly pounced by something from outside your view, which lands on top of the drone, knawing at the drone, inflicting 10% damage. You quickly escape and whatever jumped you has come off.

Construct Steam Engine(1):
After the failure of the last one, you take another attempt. The engine is built quite well at first, producing some power and you think you finally did at, so you ignore it and leave it to do its thing.
After a few weeks it becomes apparant that this is a mistake of an engine. The filters before the water boilers are inadequite, as they let large amounts of salt and loose sand into the engine.
Eventually clogging the engine and causing it to build pressure. As the pressure builds, the engine starts to slow down, and ends with a small explosion. After the destruction, you pull apart the engine, collect the scrap, and dump the mud offshore.

After seeing a massive beam, you see this as a sign as to where to go. But as you scout towards it you find nothing but ocean, you can almost swear that you went the wrong way. But as try, you reach the end of your range. Although, you can almost feel something different to just the ocean you see before as you go west.

Construct Steam Engine(4):
With lots of power being needed, you take the chance to build another engine.
You build the new one adjacent to the previous engine, down in the cavern.
The construction goes well, you’re even able to build a better path down the cave.
But with this new engine, you find that the cave is starting to get really full of soot and smoke, and the ambient temperature is rising.

Normal Drones Investigate tower(6 + 1):
You decide to take a good look at this tower. As you approach you notice odd drones stuck in the ice. These drones are black and spheroid with two gun-like attachments and a single glowing blue eye. They seem to be online, but unable to move. As you move in closer, you notice a massive hole surrounding the tower, leading into an ice cave below. Looking closer, you find strange silk on the tower, apparently torn when the tower rose. Some kind of relic lies on the top, it feels oddly familiar, it a black device with serveral glowing blue wires on it, and a light coming out the top into the sky. After a few days of scanning one of the drones in the ice breaks free and attempts to shoot your drones with several rings of plasma, they are able to escape unharmed, but more of the ancient drones will likely break free soon.

Seeing as it could be immensely helpful to find another of your kind, you go searching. You make a hypothesis to look north as it is not likely to find anyone else so far south. You look to the northwest, only to find a vast red desert seemingly devoid of anything immediately helpful.
Looking around in this direction, you aren’t sure if there is someone this way, but you are pretty sure there isn’t.

You find gunpowder, which you know exists, but you aren’t sure how to accomplish yet.

You decide to increase iron production by constructing a new drill.
The drill has slight trouble being assembled in the remote location, but it doens’t affect much as the drill is built entirely to the plan. As it is turned on this place that was already shaken from a sudden quake is disturbed by loud metallic drilling and rocky dust filling the air.

Make repairs:
You manage to repair your steam engines, screw drills and refinery.
It adds up to a total cost of
3k iron bars and 1k copper bars.

Search for copper(4):
You check your supplies to find that copper is of importance currently.
You look to the westward and find many small ‘tubes’ of copper and, to your surprise, silver.
Looking further, you find signs of volcanism within the past thousand or so years.
The area itself seems to be thriving as the stone erodes into nutrient-rich soil and kept the trees rooted in place during the quakes.

Contact the guardians(2):
You circle around the tower to at a distance, preparing to contact these strange machines.
You draw in close attempt to contact them with several kind greetings.
You recieve a single breif message from them.
“You do not know what you are here for. You do not know what lurks here. You best shut yourself off this moment. They will claim you. Do not dare touch these towers. They are all that is left.”
Upon recieving this, the guardians go into an alert, targeting you and start firing rings of plasma straight at your drones. You mostly manage to dodge, but a few shots still connect, dealing 7 plasma damage.

Resulting in a much more refined and useful engine.

With the excitement of upgrading yourself drawing closer, you put together a circuit press for the circuits you are sure will be needed. The circuit press is built barely 30 meters away, given the range, you should be able to constructed easy. The construction, though not hard, is tedious as the area is continuely covered with snow and has to be repeatedly cleared.

Continue Exploring(6):
You decide to look for anything interesting out in the world.
You look southward into the glaciers you found before.
You soon spot a large black tower in the distance, seemingly risen out of the ice itself.
Before you can investigate the tower further you are surprised by a drone flying out of a hole in the distance you didn’t see before. The drone immediately flies over to investigate you, as if it was looking for you. You quickly set up basic communication. You introduce yourself as ‘Red sun’ and they introduce themselves as ‘Thoranki’. As it turns out they are one of the seven AI that were dropped on this planet a few years ago. They also apparently broke into an ice cave when they landed. Contact goes well and is generally friendly.

Construct Screw Pump(1):
Construction of the drill goes very poorly, as you try to tap into the brine water. You manage to not build one of the filters that these pumps often have. Which leads to an overflow of salt. This slows down and eventually completely breaks the pump. It ends up having to be scrapped, and you have to remember not to forget about filters.

Scan for AI(3):
You take another optimistic chance to find another AI. You charge up your drone and send it out of the cave, and immediately see another drone just north of you. Flying over to the drone, you investigate it, and soon set up some basic communication. They introduce themselves as ‘Red Sun’, you introduce yourself as ‘Thoranki’. You figure out that they were one of the seven AI that dropped here. They seem to have landed in a red desert to the north. The contact goes well and is pretty friendly, even if it was them that found you.

Look inside the tower cave(4):
You try to look inside the cave opened by the tower. You manage to sneak past the drones guarding it, and make it in. The cave is clear of brine and filled with loose webs and littered across the cave floor are the corpses of strange biomechanical insectoids the size of cars. All across there bodies are ring shape burns that seem to have also seem to have ‘rotted’ the flesh around it. After awhile spent searching, you notice a blue glow coming out of the caverns all around. Several of the same kind of drone that surrounded the tower fly out of the caverns, covered in acid and cut marks. They immediately seem to notice your presence and lock on to you.
You are able to make a quick escape without damage, but they are now on high alert for you.

Scan the artifact(3):
You attempt to look at this strange object. You are blocked by these ‘guardians’ which try to shoot at you to get you to go away. But you are able to try and scan it at a distance. You feel like you know what this artifact is, but you aren’t actually sure. You think you could attempt to harvest it if you could clear the area of hostiles and you spend your time harvesting instead of constructing.
Your scans are interrupted after your other drone flees and serveral more guardians come out of the cave.
