THE NEW Miscellaneous Talk That Doesn't Deserve A New Thread Thread Thread (Part 1)

Why does the AI repeat itself?

American Story (clearly not politics; Contains Offensive Language though - 14+)

These seem similar to old AI Dungeon outputs, do these use OpenAI Libraries?

They use GPT-J which is an open-source alternative to OpenAI, trained on a database called The Pile

Eu disse que podia, não que era bom…

Could a specie that thrived (lol get it) by covering things in biomass, and spreading by this, and being able to form large colonies of itself, and have one organism of its species, per planet usualy, at a time, evolve from these?

I must know, for nervilla purposes.

Edit: Heres a more in depth explenation: I have a plan for my creature if people go extinct in nervilla, its an animal that sorta is a parasite/fungi, it will infect the hosts brain sorta like by inserting eggs/spores into the hosts brain, the host will then be controlled to walk toward/near the parasites true form, a lump of mass that will slowly take over land. This is a threat that will only be countered by creatures smart enough to make tools and quarantine those infected.

It happened once on Earth: blue algae
Kind of…

Cyanobacteria didn’t control stuff, they just killed all the stuff.

That’s pretty true, I did not read it right …
some creatures I thought of are this:
Ophiocordyceps unilateralis
Toxoplasma gondii
Evaniidae

But even by then they are reaching the level recorded here, except for “mitochondria”, but his ando, not para

Yep, we can only wish for all controlling cordyceps. Aka zombies.

Could you simplify this? Im not a biological Einstein

“We can only wish for all controlling cordyceps” does this mean they are the only option for this scenario?

No that’s just an example, all though they are the most advanced mind controlling critter I know of.

Thats nice to hear! I wonder when the next round of nervilla is, hopefully somone inactive goes extinct. For the soul reason of me joining.
Edit: Chance is fun

Ophiocordyceps unilateralis - also know as the zombie fungi - A fungus that takes over ants in the Amazon. When an ant infects its spores, it begins to take over the brain and causes them to climb trees until they reach a comfortable point, killing them and releasing spores from it, resuming the cycle

Toxoplasma gondii - A small parasite that lives in cats and is able to reproduce only inside their intestines. When a mouse approaches something attached to it, the first thing it does is move its head, and turn off its fear of cats, so as to make it approach the cats, and actually prey on them. There are studies that say it is also capable of altering the chemical structure of humans, and it has been shown to link car accidents to this parasite.

Evaniidae - A family of parasitic wasps some of which have been documented (I do not remember the specific name, and the name may be incorrect, but yes I know it is a parasitic wasp) stings belgiumroaches by their venomous means, paralyzes them and makes them uncontrollable. And with this she takes over and brings him (she is too small to move the belgiumroach itself, so she takes over and asks him to move) to her nest, lays the eggs on him, and they hatch and eat him, while he is alive and under the influence of his venom, cruel.

It stops cruel nature.

Besides, in my game, we actually have one person who can do this:
The Grib Class

A class of floating plants that are able to take control of the nervous system of most living things, including plants. There is only one type that he is unable to take over and another one that has developed a type of mechanism against them.
The general name of such behavior: Endoparasites

Endo parasitism does tend to go with mind control, but not all, say, tapeworms (which are mostly endoparasitic), can mind control their host.

Well, my wierd abomination of a creature will be using pherimones used for mating to atract other species to its various eyes and mouths. (At first) (Hopefully)

This is something very complex in the end, especially with complex creatures such as humans or even pigeons. (to take control)

I remember there was some kind of carnivorous firefly that does just that (it preys on other fireflies)
But not one uses it for parasites

I guess my creature will be inspired by a cross between slime mold, and the monster from the horror game carrion you play as.

Okay then? Neat however you put it

You can take the creature from Grib’s class to make it easier to become a parasite, that’s advice from me, that’s the thing that exists in the game closest to what you want.

Ok  Now I just need to wait a bit, and ill be set!
Edit: My creature I guess is also inspired by ark genesis 2’s rockwell.

The Amazon forest now emits CO2 because of fires! Fires caused by humans! We must unite! We must unite against climate change!

[War cry]

Seriously guys, what can be done about it? Why do humans even cause fires in that forest?
