I have the feeling that the starvation scenario will happen, at which point AI in any form will be regarded as a tool by ones in power to control everyone else (meaning that developing any advanced AI would become a taboo).
And since we’re talking about AI and AGI, would they be useful for developing Thrive, or in this Community Forum? Imagine Forum Games taking seconds to write a new round…
You don’t need to find other intelligent lifeforms with different biology. What I meant by “xenobiology” was to study alternative biology in laboratory, like with different chemicals. For instance, you could make synthetic cells with PNA instead of DNA and see how they evolve/differentiate.
I was actually thinking about making a forum game programming language in the future, but with my current mental state, it’d be impossible.
We haven’t yet figured out how to make fully artificial life
Even if different life biochemistry was used, it would still follow natural selection rules, right? The same effect could thus be achieved by making a fully artificial DNA genome (which I think has already been done) and going through a lot of different variations to see what evolves. Though unless some accelerating factor can be found, that’s going to be as slow as artificial selection.

Does anyone have any ideas or concepts about how outer space will be divided into regions? Like how the different counties and states of a nation are recognized as their own regions or the continents.
The smallest form of space in the astronomical region system would be stars, but how would they be grouped together to form larger distinct areas?
Yep, I was already notified of this. And setup Thrive with the new recommended prices for those regions. I also noticed that Thrive had not been available for purchase in Argentina or Turkey for some time as our old price had been destroyed due to inflation so it was below the minimum price games can be sold at. Now people should be able to at least buy Thrive in those regions. Whether the price is affordable is another question entirely, but as I’m not an expert on purchasing power in different countries I just follow the Steam price conversion guidelines.

I do. My idea is that basically, when a country controls a stellar system, it would also control all the space in the radius of e.g. 6 light years around it. If the resulting ‘territorial sphere’ intersected with the ‘territorial sphere’ of another stellar system, a straight border going through the middle of the intersection would be created.
That would depend on the country.

What about areas where no singular nation controls an entire planet, much less a whole star?
I’m asking this because I am writing sci-fi lore and I would like opinions on how stars would be grouped up into ‘local sectors’ and the like or if they would not at all.
FOR sake! I had been downloading free packages from SteamDB for 5 days now. I had disabled automatic updates for until November 26th, yet Windows 10 still updated without my consent. Now, I have to restart all over again! I HATE YOU MICROSOFT! Windows 10 and their belgium automatic updates!
That is why Linux is better, I guess.
Really the only thing keeping me from going to Linux is the fact that current internet environment is rather Windows-Centric.
I mean that, many apps can be only used on Windows, as they don’t have version usable on Linux, only because Windows happens to be a more popular computer engine (so it has a larger amount of users).
Edit: I’m spacefaring now

I kinda misworded this post. I wanted to say ‘owns’ instead of ‘contorls’. And there are a couple more things that I’d like to change. Here’s an updated version:
I do. My idea is that basically, when a country/coalition-state[1] owns a stellar system, it would also own all the space in the radius of e.g. 6 light years around it. If the resulting ‘territorial sphere’ intersected with the ‘territorial sphere’ of another stellar system, a straight border going through the middle of the intersection would be created.
This is certainly an interesting situation. I guess then the ‘territorial sphere’ could be treated as a ‘zone of joined jurisdiction’ (a.k.a. ‘zone of shared ownership’), in which both (or more) countries/coalition-states execute complete control over their specific areas of interest (unless otherwise specified) and the space between those areas would be open for all the countries/coalition-states owning the ‘territorial sphere’ (unless otherwise specified).
That is SO COOL! Can’t wait to see what you’re cooking!
One idea I have is a system based around nebulas, dust clouds, spiral arms, star clusters and other features of galaxies. Another thing worth thinking about is how the names of geographic areas on Earth were derived.
Anyways, I hope what I wrote made sense (:
the term coalition-state refers to a kind of ‘joined state’ created by two or more countries. Something akin to the EU, but with more power given to e.g. the central government or a similar entity, though how exactly does a coalition-state function varies between the states ↩︎

I think it helped a little.
You can see some of it already. Techno Zen Elysium forum game.
To be clear, the thread has multiple games on it.
Give me a second and I’ll link to the first post of the proper game.
