THE NEW Miscellaneous Talk That Doesn't Deserve A New Thread Thread Thread (Part 2)

Has this happen to anyone else.

Whenever I quote someone, sometimes discourse just removes the quote section like if the post was orignally

Commentary on that blah

it becomes:

Commentary on that blah

Which is kind of weird?

If you quote the previous post in a thread entirely, discourse thinks that that is bad style and will automatically remove the quote. To get around that I usually reply like this, just normally and make sure my post makes sense even without a quote, or I will quote just a part of the previous post if there’s a specific part of it I want to highlight I’m replying to.

… Current predictions say that CCP will invade Taiwan around year 2027, which is likely to cause WW3.

What? Not having to leave home was the best thing ever

not for everyone
but for me staying in the same place for over 6 months with no school was a heaven

I remember this period which is one of the best periods of my life - it was before I started my academic studies (which I am in today). Zoom for the trail was not bad, and probably helped me a lot during my studies.

I can agree that it’s not for everyone - it’s all about personality and preferences.

It was a trap. The moment I got back to the regular class, with all that noise, sitting in an uncomfortable chair, not being able to ignore the useless classes, I instantly regretted it.

And actually I used google meet, I still have fond memories of interacting socially without having to see colleagues’ faces

Kind of offtopic from the Quick question thread but also ontopic to Thrive.
Have you actually thought how much stages actually will thrive have.
It can go two ways.
Gameplay and creature complexity
Gameplay is.
Microspic (microbe to early multicell)
Technically everything after this is just theories but whatever
Macrospic moving (late multicell to aware amd technically with little changes the early awakening)
Macrospic sessile (just late multicell)
Crafting (early awakening)
Strategy (late awakening to space)
God (just ascension)
By creature complexity
(There is so much I won’t continue more then 5)
Prokaryotic cell
Eukaryotic cell
Microspic multicell
Macrospic multicell
Animaloid with a simple brain.

Yeah, I agree. I had plans to start socializing myself. Covid-19 effectively ruined them. Now I’m even more isolated from society. I don’t think I’ll be able to go into a crowded space without a mask ever again.

A large earthquake happened in southern Turkey, which turned several cities into rubble and caused at least 29 thousand casualties.

I will be returning to zoom until this summer, because displaced people will be accomodated in university dormatories.

It normally happens when you click reply on a post, and then quote.

:belgium: the CCP.

Belgium fear mongering predictions.

The feature as described:

says it only applies if all of the following are true:

  • IF a user adds a quote at the start (and only at the start) of their post
  • AND the quote is of an entire post
  • AND the quote is from the immediate preceding post

It seemed entirely like a joke to me? Like a doomsday prediction where someone picks a completely random date to make fun of the people who are seriously making doomsday predictions.

So I was thinking about this and, I think this is how starfleet gets away with not having money or making people work.

Very strange. What are your guys thoughts on it?

Like when Quebec’s PM claimed that the province was going to become a northern Lousiana.

Sorry for the politics, I had to.

:-]

You mean the chinese balloon or a video game?

?
I mean like in star trek?
What are you thinking? I was talking about the video I posted, I didn’t even read the previous post.

I just don’t understand how a starfleet would get away with not having money or not making people work. In what context? And what does it have to do with the video? I only watched the beginning.

People, strangely enough, aren’t motivated by rewards. They are motivated by the feeling they get from preforming the task, people who expect a reward often do worse than those who aren’t.

i mean if the reward was some mafia not murdering your whole family because you’re terribly in debt, that would probably be a pretty good motivator.

I mean besides basic things you need to do to not die.
