It’s insane that trigonometry and calculus is taught but not how to do taxes.

If this forum allowed political discussions from the beginning would it be better or worse?

Worse because there would be at least one user in favour of communism or capitalism with everyone else being on the other side of a “debate” that destroyed everyone’s sanity. And then there would be intentional trolls stirring up reactions. So it would be just a terrible time overall (unless we had super strict moderation delete any posts that are obviously just thinly veiled attacks, and my sanity couldn’t take having to moderate that).

unless we largely agreed on stuff… I think it’d be hilarious if we were like a communist forum and I have long feared that we’d slowly drift towards being yet another mildly libertarian or even alt right forum. Hopefully with the transbian throuple (words I’m so happy to associate with Thrive) and whatnot being normalized we can have the terminal point for any political consensus be fully automated luxury belgium space communism (which is my preferred political system).

As you can tell, I’d make a great troll. I’m also a human supremacist and for the sake of argument play a great Marxist Posadist.

I think we should stop discussing these hypothetical politics-in-thrive-forum scenarios since I already see this drifting towards an actual political discussion.

quite true, just gonna make sure the general public knows I’m, I dunno, quirky and weird or whatever I’m giving off, I’m not sure. Honestly, I understand why trolls do it, being unpredictable and dishonest is a GREAT defense mechanism, and an even better offense mechanism.

Even though those two are almost the only banned users from these forums, I think I saw some politics DM in another user’s DM list (I didn’t want to have to deal with it so I didn’t read it). So I actually think someone else was responsible for making that.

Did Thrive Italia (if that’s what it was called) also not allow political discussions?

Thrive Italia was one of the early Youtube channels posting Thrive music. I’m not sure if they were related to the “scandal” of a lot of early Thrive music being noticed as being plagiarized.

Uhhhh it died. I lost motivation for a bit, got distracted by some stuff in my irl life, then when I got motivation back I also got all 8 am classes, so needless to say I’m too tired. No guarantee I won’t revive it, but yk, not til winter more or less.
