THE NEW Miscellaneous Talk That Doesn't Deserve A New Thread Thread Thread (Part 2)

Considering that LGBT people would pretty much get killed for not being straight in many areas across the world, having a whole month dedicated to pride is quite fair

happy pride month

Who would have thought that someone saying something bizarre in the one sentence story thread would start a chain reaction making me discover myself as bi.

The world is strange sometimes

Why is this happening now? This hasn’t happened (at least to this extend) on any previous year (on these forums).

Well, so would Christians, and Christians only have 4 or so widely celebrated holidays, and all of them have barely anything to do with Christianity in the modern day (St. Patrick’s day has literally become about getting drunk).

I see <------- completely clueless

(Ignore anything nigel might say about this event)

I dont get the point of mentioning this
Also are you saying christians are as oppressed as LGBTQ people? Because if so then thats so far off from the truth

Well I mean, about 50,000-70,000 Christians have been killed in Nigeria over the last 13 years or so. Just saying.
And Christians are pretty heavily discriminated against in China and North Korea, if you’re caught with a bible in NK then you get sentenced to life in a prison work camp, even if you’re two years old.

Isnt most of the world christian???
We’d be comparing a huge majority to a tiny minority here

Yes? How is that relevant?

If we’re measuring oppression
One is at risk of being killed and genocided across a large portion of the world
The other isnt
Now we’re going a bit too much into political territory so we should stop

Also, it’s not worth comparing which tragedy is worse. Both are horrible.

It doesn’t matter the percentage of people being killed, what matters is the number of people being killed. And a lot of Christians are being killed. Probably more than lgbtq people.
And I’m not saying anything against lgbtq people here, I’m just saying that the logic that the lgbtq community should get an entire month because they’re getting killed in a lot of places also applies to Christians, who honestly only has about 1 1/2 of a widely celebrated holiday considering how secularized they’ve become.
If there were only 2 people in the world who had naturally blue hair or something, and one of them was killed for having blue hair then it would have been 50% of the people killed, but people would care a lot more about 1,000 ginger people being killed despite it being much much less percentage wise.

i disagree
but lets drop this

Daymn. This is the hottest take I’ve seen on the forums in long time.

I didn’t find the exact weird flavour of morality this is, but here’s something close to it:

Yes, this is not a good discussion to have. Let’s stop now before someone starts advocating genocide as long as another larger group benefits.
