bees and ants sting you the same way, ant bites are only called bites cause ants bite you before they sting you, so anteaters would be resistant to bee stings as well

Aren’t bees able to stop themselves midsting, and unscrew themselves before the stinger becomes imbedded? There was a video of it somewhere on the internet.

That way they could survive stinging humans. Don’t know if it’s something actually used by the bees though as I recall they are said to pretty much never survive stinging humans.

Wasps do it. Their stingers aren’t barbed so they can just jab as many times and pull it out.

Bees are the only ones that die after stinging. Honeybees specifically. I’m not sure why that trait evolved.

Perhaps since they are barbed to latch on to targets better?

Yeah I heard that wasp stings don’t last as long despite hurting more because they just slip out
