The Unexpected Profile Favorite Species FG

Intro

Well. This is unexpected, isn’t it?

One day you are doing your ordinary routines, and the next thing you know, you are something entirely different. You were “human” before. But when you look at the nearest reflective surface, now you are…

Wait?! It can’t be!

On a hunch, you attempt to go to the Thrive Community Forums. It isn’t easy, because of, well, whatever you became. You try to log in, but remember it isn’t necessary.

Bless Discourse and the ability the check the content on the forums without needing an account!

If you were confused before, don’t worry. Just click on your profile. You have various things you described and choose. Your Personal/Profile Forum Picture (PFP), your vanity name, your description, your featured topic, your…

You stop in utter disbelieve.

It can’t be possible! How?!

You shake your head, or head-like appendage. You attempt to sigh, as reality dawns upon you. This is no dream.

You have somehow turned into your favorite species in your Thrive Forum profile.

Premise

Try to survive as your favorite species described in your Thrive Forum profile while stuck dealing with humans and other players in your “regular” life. How will they react? Let us find out!

Rules

The rules are simple. Every round, we do an action. I will roll to see if players, including myself, succeed or fail at doing the action. Like in Radiostrocity, 1 is fail, 2 is partial success, 3+4 is regular success, 5 is extra success, and 6 is double the regular success (thanks, @aah31415 for the correction!)

Also, I will try to remember to do this every week or so, but no promises. After all, FGs are for fun.

  1. No, I’m not joining the FG, I just found it amusing after reading the intro that I get a big load of nothing ↩︎

I mean, it depends on which species of human you are talking about. If you want to become a Neanderthal, that is cool, too.

Did you ever join any FG by the way?

Not recently. I used to play them (even hosted a few) some years ago, but since then I’ve never been too interested in actaully joining them. I’ll usaully read the first 20ish posts of a new one to see what it’s about before leaving the next few hundred posts unread.

Action - Try to type on my computer using my new 500 + limbs.

Roll … 1

Result - Accidentally throws computer mouse out of frustration of not being able to type.

Wondering how long it will take for me to learn to properly type again.

Hm. I wonder if perhaps at some point we should make a “FG tierlist”…

This seems interesting..

Hm. I wonder how will people around react to their close ones turning into animals…

Well realistically there would probably some extreme psychological effects, there would be no scientific explanation as to why/how it happened.
Pretty much the definition of cosmic horror, after that you would probably be taken somewhere for study…
(Effect would probably be stronger if you turned into an extinct species.)

I wonder what a version of Kafka’s Metamorphosis would look like if the main character literally turned into an insect rather than it being a metaphor for disability and change…

By the way, AA, what do you use to roll the dies?

Roll … 1

You fail to find any water sources. You know there are sinks, but they are now too large for you to scale. You remember that there are water bottles, but you have yet to figure out how to get to them, let alone open them, as a Crayfish.

Roll … 1

Now as your spirit animal, you attempt to take in your surroundings. Unfortunately, you are still very disorientated from your sudden transformation into the Greater Anteater to properly discern anything. You are not used to the greater sense of smell or taste, becoming overwhelmed.

To answer you question, aah31415, I use a random number generator on my computer. I was thinking of using Random.org, but the browser I use constantly needs to use captcha on their website.
