Will this cause Thrive to have more funding/developers?
That depends on if the MacOS fanbase of Thrive’s is large enough to provide such means.
Depends on how many Mac gamers will now purchase the game on Steam or itch to support the development. Or if some programmer with a Mac hears about the news and decides to join the team.
Should we put more effort into getting such a programmer from the Mac community or is that not necessary?
I think we should, we could use more help probably.
Yes, but would effort there be worth it than putting it elsewhere?
What other field would you suggest putting effort into?
Maybe generally into the upcoming 1.0.0 marketing campaign?
That would probably be a good idea too…
Or better yet, combine both our ideas?
Yeah, that would also be effective.
So far Nie is the only mainly MacOS regular player of Thrive we know of in the forum. With this announcement, more might be soon to come.
I hope so, it would be nice to are more people know about Thrive.
Popularity is what we’ve been chasing for years now.
You are right, I have been watching at this project since about 2023 and I haven’t had any opportunity to play thrive.
Well hopefully the new version works for you without any issues.
Though, I’ll note that we’ve had an experimental Mac version for quite a while which should have worked (although it needed some “fighting” with gatekeeper to allow it to run).
Yeah, I really enjoy this version, no bugs, no low fps, everything is alright.
Have you tried the “experimental” MacOS version that released sometime ago or did you miss it?
Unfortunately I missed it
