The 3D models I’ve made are to provide something that isn’t just a drawing of mine. The models represent more of the body plan for the specific group of creatures it represents instead of any one specific species. I’ll try my best to add more details as I go with the 3D models, but I already know that color will be somewhat tough (its tied to individual shapes and available colors for non-premium accounts) so that will likely be one of the uses my drawings will end up having.
I guess it’s for the better then that the submitters didn’t necessarily go with the colors provided by the 3d models.
For submissions made on other platforms, will they be also shared here or only will the arts from the various Thrive sites come together during your stream concluding the contest?
as long as they are posted here or the community discord art submission will I know about them. That’ll make things easiest for me to save the images and review them when the contest is over.
Since this seems to only be a contest for macroscopic/aware, will (would?) the contests for future timestaps for the project also be held in this thread or will each have it’s own thread?
To make it easier to navigate each installment of the project, each one will have its own thread segment so there won’t be confusion about which organisms are being represented in those art pieces.
I get from this that each iteration will have it’s own set of clades/species we work with?
that is correct. Also as ecosystems become more specific it’ll become more important to know which animals interact with one another, but I’ll try to put them all together based on their geographic locations
Seems like you already tried to establish their ranges via those maps that came along a few species/clades
So the creatures can be any color, but the plants must be green?
Isn’t the base plant of this period yellow?
Yellow is correct. When life invades land there will also be a green plant o n the other continent. You can hint at that plant via green algae patches if you want
Will we be let know in the future pangonia contests which continent it is that has those verdant plants?
Yes. That will be included as it will impact camouflage for native species as well as colors used to signal danger/toxicity
Are there any other major color deviations planned for the flora? Like maybe the dark purple plants?
The plants in the polar region will go orange and brown (based on if they descend from the yellow or green plants respectively) since they’ll balance out their own pigment and the algae symbionts. Possibly also full red for decomposed plants
So is that not planned out yet?
So we can do variations on the organisms?

I think that’s kind of the point of this contest?
What is minimum size for our submissions (in pixels)?
Also, am I the only one who can no longer see Trappist’s art submission on the forum?
Also can’t see that submission.
You mean size in pixels?
