I might join as Russia. They had a decent navy for 1880 and even wanted to use Madagascar as a trading port. Of course, I will take more, but there’s some precedent for Russia joining the scramble for Africa.

Geledi is the light blue one. The Somali Sultanates tend to have a fine relationship but if you want to unite the coast you might have to wage some wars.
