Thrivers scramble for Africa!

Warsangali it is, then.

Also, how will the gameplay work?

You basically do whatever you want and I roll a dice to see how effective said action(s) are. I then edit the map to what you did.

On the Somali coast, who are the red and green lands? Also, you said uniting the coast might require waging war. But against who? The colonizers or other African nations?

Iโ€™ll join as Portugal; no one has selected it yet, but itโ€™s quite an interesting choice, at least to me.

Well you donโ€™t have to unite the coast if you donโ€™t want to. The game is basically a free for all, you can attack other african nations or european powers.

I think Iโ€™d only attack if Iโ€™m getting attacked. Anyway, will there be perks that we can unlock to boost some of our rolls? Like in Thrive Odyssey? In addition, are there NPC nations not marked on the map?

I presume the โ€œemptyโ€ areas might also put up some resistance?

There are tribes in the unclaimed areas which you can steamroll through if youโ€™re a european power but will take some effort if youโ€™re a native african nation (unless your european overlord decides to give you weapons or something).

Yes.

Also I presume the hold of some colonizers on their colonized will differ (so for instance the ottomans would have a weaker hold on egypt/libya vs france have a stronger one on algeria)?

Oh and another thang (hawk tuah and spit on that thang!)!

To unite or federate with other nations, I suppose I should improve my relations with them?

Nice to have a neighbour. Would you mind if we joined our efforts to unite the coast (kind of like the EU)?

How would 2 players ruling one nation work like?

It would probably be a system of votes for decision making.

Or each player gets 1 vote for the nation ig

Would Saudi Arabia try to colonize Africa?

Well you can only have one player per nation unless you decide to federate. If one player is a puppet nation and the other is the master then the master can veto out any decisions the vassal/colony makes unless the colonyโ€™s roll is higher than the master, in which case a rebellion can form.

Federating would be like the EU, right?

Iโ€™d think it would be this vote sharing thing or โ€œvoting for votes to castโ€
