Multicellular Organisms!

I’m not sure why I didn’t notice that my species population only changes in the patch I am currently in. Anyway, I think my points are still worth considering for the future.

This is my rock eating organism.

Have you got any problems with cells moving around in the editor with this “creature”?

No I have not. Why do you ask?

Quite usually if you make long/thin appendages out of cells in the multicellular editor, you might witness the cells of the said outcropping not being in the same positions when you enter the editor after placing down these limbs in the previous session.

Oh. Well i made this in the free build multicelluar editor so I only went through one editor stage and waited for my creature to mature.

I see. I can imagine it would be far more frustrating to keep the multicell in the desired shape had you been playing the stage legitimately.

I wanted to share my latest play through of Thrive here, where I made an iron/hydrogen sulfide eating organism! This current rendition of it is called Ore refinery. Here is my reddit post discussing the same creature: post

I had to evolve some interesting defenses with this creature. I evolved spikes in the intracellular matrix cause tiny toxic cells would crawl in there and start shooting me from the inside. I also developed a mucus layer to protect most of my cells when this happened. Playing in the new patches with the new currents has been fun with this guy.

This was a fun play through. I did the beginning of it in 1.0.0 up to multicellular, then played multicellular once 1.0.1 came out. What is the current win scenario? Last time it was 20 generations in single cell stage, right? I figured reaching gen 40 in multi cell stage would be the win scenario for this one too, but I am on gen 41 and the pop up didn’t happen. Maybe it is cause I already cleared it on this save in the last update, or it is at gen 50 or something?

The win condition was moved to getting at least 10 cells in your layout

I never got the pop-up, either, in my Multicellular playthroughs.

Did you also use an originally 1.0.0 save?

No. It was started fresh in 1.0.1.0.

Strange then that it failed to manifest itself. I definitely saw it on a fresh 1.0.1 save

The min population amount check still exists and you need to be at least at generation 25 for you to be able to win the multicellular stage.

Kind of didn’t know there were actually three conditions to this and not one

There’s actually this many conditions to win:

So if a player('s population) is doing badly enough they could just never see it

If they are doing that badly, ARE they winning? Makes sense to me.

I mean sometimes autoevo just doesn’t like your build even tho it works

Like it is weird with Toxins, since technically, after Toxisome fills with toxins, there is better (or positive) ATP balance.
