I recall I created such cytotitan cells for multicellular if I needed to engulf large chunks. Did you do sth similar?
Not yet. It is on my to-do-list for organisms to make in Thrive.

Besides the freebuilds (which are the best tools for just testing a builds), we do have design for starting in later Stages. But this would be more like whole pre-made ecosystems, so like loading a savegame. Not so much like starting in a later stage in Spore, because we have actual connected ecosystems and different environment states.
If we just enabled it, frighteningly fast probably. Sometimes I see species with binding agents in 10-15 generations. Auto-evo does not use unlock conditions right now.

You mean the Eukaryotes that have already spun off from the Player?
Following the logic of auto-evo so far, yes. But I think itβs likely we will put some limits on this.
So that there still are BA unicellulars later into the game?
No, not so much that, because I think we would implement this as creation of a new species, like the other mutations. Keeping single-celled species around will have more to do with new miches.
The reason for the limits would be to make sure the player has a chance.
And that chance would vary depending on the difficulty, too?
That depends a bit on the exact implementation, but one option we have discussed previously is whenever an AI species tries to progress to the next stage, there is an X (depending on difficulty settings) turn delay before it actually happens.
But for this specific example, we might need something else, because the player has a 5 turn delay after the nucleus before they can even place Binding Agents, while the AI does not. And thatβs quite odd.
Do you think the 5 turn delay for getting the Binding Agent should be reduced for the Players, in anticipation for implementation of Difficulty Dependent turn delay for the AI to progress to the next stage?
Also, if someone plays with no organelle unlocks, would the delay for AI to progress be very short?
Maybe the option to turn off organelle unlocks will be removed like what happened to other legacy options?
I normally play with organelle unlocks turned off to make it more fair, since AI cells do not have the same restrictions as Players.
Well maybe itβs an exchange for the advantages of the players in other fields?
I always find organelle unlocks to be extremely annoying and over the top. It probably does help the AI keep up when Iβm doing nothing on my plant run while waiting to unlock the Chloroplast so I can place the Nucleus without being a hopeless organism within five generations because I canβt place Chloroplasts or Mitochondria. Fun times.

At this rate of people commenting, organelle unlocks is going to be a feature that is going to be enforced in the future (so the option to turn it off will disappear).
As expected. I donβt recall there being much backlash when passive reproduction was locked to being ON so hopefully there isnβt much for locking ON the unlocks aswell.
