Not all plants are rooted to the ground. In fact, not all Angiosperms are rooted to the ground. Some float on water and others have βaerial rootsβ.

Irl, plants intentionally grow certain directions, and open and close their leaves, and are not always rooted to the ground, but none of them walk, crawl, or slither. Of course, if I thought I could make it work, I would so make a D. Plumbicare. That thing is insane when it starts sprinting around the walls and ceiling on its pentasymetrical leaves.

I think itβs important to be explicit: plants and animals are specific phyla with a common ancestor each on Earth. By definition, any life form on your Thrive planet cannot be a plant or animal.
There might be βanimalsβ walking around on your planet, and those could have Normal/Double membranes and be using muscles, or have Cellulose/Chitin cell walls and be using hydraulic vacuoles. There could also be photosynthetic βplantsβ growing on that planet, using any of the cell membrane types.
For now, none of that is disabled by the LAWK switch.
You can only place one in a cell, so you will want to use specialisation and adjacency bonuses to make them more powerful.

Thrive only has a cell adjacency bonuses system, not an organelle adjacency system. So it was referring to placing cells of the same type adjacent to each other.
Previously quite slow, but I believe it was recently already sped up.
those would probably be immobile because of the autotrophy and being settled into the soil, not directly because they have a cell wall.
