Quick Question Thread

I know, I meant after the development shifts to multicellular and the myr step for an editor cycle of multicellular organisms is reduced to, say, 25 myrs.

Something like reducing microbe mutation speed has to happen later, but it is way too early to speculate anything concrete.

I mean, we’re approaching the multicellular development phase rather rapidly. 1.0.0 is only months away at this point. At some point before it releases, this should be tackled.

I think of it a different way: 1.0.0 is a point where multicellular stage just begins to be developed. Until then it’s best (to my feelings) to focus on microbe stage, like, completely to deliver as best product as possible by the “finish” (it’s not like microbe stage will be left as is forever after that) line, and only then think of multicellular stuff for that is the place for it.
That, of course, doesn’t mean noone can design how it should work, if there aren’t any top priority game design dillemas. Someone may implement this on their own but I doubt that hh would do it considering current situation and even if another volunteer would send a code, it would be needed to be reviewed, again, probably by hh which wouldn’t help with time we have 'till 1.0.0

Still theory usually has to be created much time before the actual development starts. We probably wouldn’t want to enter multicellular with the programmers left to navigate what’s in need of being added on their own.

How many 0.9 releases are planned to be needed before 1.0.0.0 releases?

That depends on when will the planet generator be completed. If it isn’t finished for too long, there might not even be a 0.9.X era.

When will cheats be enabled/accessible for later game stages?

When the development reaches these stages.

When is it planned for Plate Tectonics to be added to the game?

Presumable when we move on to macroscopic. Or maybe earlier if there’s time for that.

I would think either late Macroscopic or early Aware. It makes little sense in Multicellular, and the Macroscopic Editor will likely take priority over other aspects of Macroscopic.

Since macro and aware are close together I think we could see plates being tackled once the easiest-to-implement aspects have already beem programmed in.
