Quick Question Thread

It’s 1000x1000. How much bigger does it need to be? And to answer your question, I don’t know of a higher resolution version existing.

My bad, I meant less blurry

Quick Question, is there any particular reason why the pop becomes much harder to increase after 70k - 80k, is there like a complexity variable going into pop? wondering, if you want to know what build, its a singular thyroid.

Is there a limit per map? or is it the emergence of predator’s that specifically target my species? also op combo, acid + thyroid = major success

There exists a limited amount of total energy in the environment so that puts a hard cap on how many alive cells there can be at the same time.

thx

I have a quick question, if you don’t mind. With the upcoming release of the early multicellular prototype, are the winning conditions going to be changed? (For example: Survive 10 generations as a multicellular organism.)

The win condition won’t be adjusted until one of the following two happen:

  • Microbe stage is complete and we get enough multicellular stage done for it to make sense to move the win condition there
  • All of the stages are implemented as prototypes that aren’t so unplayable that going through them is painful, then the “win condition” will be moved all the way to the end of the game where it will stay forever.

Will there be a button showing past versions of my creature, like in a spore?

i would like it if there was like a generation button//archive, to improve upon your creature, go back, and improve again.

instead of having multiple saved files

Is the auto-evo capable of reaching multi-cellularity?

yes and no, in theory, yes rn probably not

you can see them or you cant

So when you’re still small to see microbes how will the game know theres two cells or more and how will the cells be attached together

these kinds of questions go in the quick question thread

Oh, thanks you

(20 charters thing)

What do you mean? You just see multiple cells stuck together, exactly like the early multicellular prototype can have multicellular cell clumps formed from different cell types that are stuck together.

Sorry I made a post than it got moved here also I ment in the editor like have two cells in there or more

So what was your question, then? The cells are stuck together and look like the cells they are just like in the prototype. At least until someone else comes along and upgrades the game visuals.

Hello, I’m new here. I’ve been in love with Thrive since I heard about it, but I just now decided to download it. I used the Git-hub installer and the download proceeded normally, but when I open it, Windows defender says it is dangerous. I know defending is horrible, but my dad thinks it must be a virus because it’s free. I was wondering if it is really safe to install as Thrive seems to be a wonderful game.

Is each individual part of a cell calculated in multicellular? If they are, then maybe treating one cell as its output and negatives could fix some lag issues.
