Round 15 - 18:00, April 28th, 2000

Round Prologue

At the old nest site in the reserva, researchers have arrived, having heard the reports of a new kind of ants found there. Immedietly, they notice that those ants have unique structures, and each ant seems to be different from another. However, as the sky is getting dark, they decide to quickly take a few of these ants, sending some of them to research labs. They will arrive in them by [ROUND 24].

At the same time, TO is monitoring what these people are doing in it’s old home, whilst upgrading the new nest…

The Organism

The speech organ of TO has been improved even more, being able to produce more sounds on a single breath (+100 MH). TO also started developing structures looking like femur bones on it’s back, with very high bone density, however these structures are for now rather small (+50 MH). On the other hand, TO’s evolving neurons have studied the most effective ways of capturing people, making the ant able to construct makeshift traps in seconds now (+100 S, @CatSquared please submit a minor mutation related to trap building). Other changes to TO’s behaviour include a special adrenaline gland which can make TO a lot better at fighting, however it was developed smaller than desired (+50 S). Meanwhile, the neurons have made TO far smarter than at noon (+125 MH, +100 ME). A new child caste was developed, that being silk ants which produce strong silk (+50 MH, + 50 S).

TO tried to make the tower above the nest even taller, however after a while it collapsed alongside the ant onto the ground below, causing some damage (-50 H). TO then tried making some heavy tools, causing damage to it’s limbs too (-50 H). Even turning resources to energy failed, as the heat caused many cells to die (-50 H). But another thing worked - Scounter ants have been sent to the old nest site, and provided TO with detailed information about what the researchers have been up to here, aswell as locating many tasty animals around the new nest (+225 R). The Ant then made clothes out of skins of these animals, providing some extra protection (+125 A). TO then made sure that the tower above the nest wouldn’t collapse, using the brand new silk ants to reinforce the nest structure, finding corpses of many ants burried in collapsed tunnels (+125 R). Having found many minerals, TO attempted to shape it. The zombie helped here, creating a strong fire which made the metal more plastic. Now, TO has a rather useful tool - an Axe! (+125 S).

  • Things such as mutations/action costs, statistic gains due to mutations/actions, energy consumed per round, health loss due to roll of 1, resource gathering multiplier and resources turning into other statistics have been multiplied by 50 100 (so for instance, a resource-gathering action with a roll of 3 or 4 will now gather 63 125 R (50 100 R + 13 25 R from the former +0.25 R per R-gathering action) and cost 25 50 E.)

I’ll remind you that there exists a system that allows you to make a vote against a player whose Mutation/Actions goes against your own Mutation/Action.

Some additional rules and stuff:
-If size of the organism increases, so will the organism statistics, aswell as their effects (so if you double your size, the organism has double in height statistics, and it consumes double energy/round passively).
-Actions such as converting resources into energy, or turning resources into health, don’t cost energy. However, if you don’t have resources nor energy, you can draw your health bar (meaning that it’ll have a lower cap) in order to regenerate energy just like resources.

Armour statistic is extra shield which can weather some BATTLE damage.

All the captured ants came from the old nest, so they don’t have the scout caste, so no long-distance communication.

I’d say TO has now about 150-160 IQ.

Mutation: New type of child that will Crawl outside the nest (avoiding others of it’s type), lay down, and become an ever growing mass of chitin and muscles that will poison and trap non-ant animals that walk by for later consumption as long as it’s fed
