Mutation: a type of child that acts as a conduit for hemolymph, electricity, pure water, information, and gas, and has testing circuits it uses to make and test materials for their conductivity to see if the new wire material is better or worse than their current wire material, gradually replacing its wires if the new material is better.

Action: attempt to communicate(and maybe negotiate) with the humans!

Round 18 - 12:00, April 29th, 2000

Round Prologue

(Rolled 3/6, Higher rolls are better for TO)
A group of 12 people has ventured into an unprotected forest near Matiguas, trying to reach a nest whose main goal has become the construction of a tall, easily visible tower.

The Organism

TO’s exoskeleton is now far more mineral-rich, making it sturdier (+50 MH).

The ant has developed some tumours on it’s head, which have now been healed (-50 H). It then developed a new, strange kind of an ant which looks and functions more like a pipe or a wire - It can move lots of stuff around in pipes made from chains of itself, and is able to mutate in order to conduct better. It makes communication and resource-moving around the new hive a lot easier (+50 MH, +50 ME, @willow please submit a minor mutation related to the pipe-wire caste). TO also developed a better camouflage on it’s now-harder armour (+75 MH, +25 S). TO’s brain also developed a lot, becoming a lot better at abstract thought and working memory, also having it’s pattern recognition skills heightened, increasing it’s logical ability (+100 ME, @fralegend015 please submit a minor mutation related to the brain). The ant then developed another caste - this one consumes soil and turns it into edible food (Gives (Size Multiplier) R every Round). TO then brought the amount of castes made in 6 hours up to three, now developing a caste designed to find, mine and transport metals and minerals, albeit it didn’t develop the way intended (+50 MH).

TO has brought more metal structure to top of the tower, making it even taller as a result. This has attracted the attention of many birds, which TO procedeed to catch (+125 R). TO also build more traps around the new nest and obtained bodies of animals which have fallen into older ones (+125 R). After that, The Ant tried to search information about human technologies on the internet, but it instead found a bunch of confusing memes which made it so angry that it accidently flew into a tree (-50 H). TO then deployed the land-eating children near the tower, hoping that they would convert the loose soil on the nest grounds into edible matter, but after returning the amount of food produced was smaller than expected (+75 R). After that however TO commanded it’s new and old children to automate metal production. The children have quickly organized, using tunels that stretch far from the nest as mines for metal extraction and transported the ores aboveground, near the nest, where they would be smelted into more usable forms. The children also collected lots of worms and other soil-dwelling organisms during the operation (+150 R).

HUMAN INTERACTION

12 People have now arrived at fringes of the nest, being able to see giant ants carrying metal ores into primitive ovens from which liquid metal was taken to be shaped into new forms. Questioning lots of stuff, the team ended up tearing through the camouflaging barriers of the nest and quickly were faced with TO.

They are amazed when they hear The Ant speaking Spanish, maybe not in the most perfect form but still easily understandable. TO says that it was first “awakened” some four days ago, and proceeds to talk about it’s gradual evolution from a regular bullet ant to the being it has turned into now. The Zombie also entered the scene, and having had it’s brain fully healed, also proceeds to join the strange discussion. The team is writing notes as the ant and the revived tourist talk about many things, ranging from the astonishing amount of wild food in this area to TO mentioning it’s ability to connect to the WWW and talk to people online. Left in wonders, dozen people leave the nest area, whilist TO and The Zombie hope that what they did will allow them to make a peaceful contact with humanity.

When the team returns to Matiguas, news of TO, the Tourist, The mutated Ants and The Tower quickly spread amongst the population. These news, thru the internet, also reach new areas beyond the surroundings of the Reserva, but the further they go the more they are regarded as fake news. One is for certain though, and it’s that a bunch of researchers will soon approach the site of the tower…

Miscellaneous

I’ll remind you that there exists a system that allows you to make a vote against a player whose Mutation/Actions goes against your own Mutation/Action.

Some additional rules and stuff:
-If size of the organism increases, so will the organism statistics, aswell as their effects (so if you double your size, the organism has double in height statistics, and it consumes double energy/round passively).
-Actions such as converting resources into energy, or turning resources into health, don’t cost energy. However, if you don’t have resources nor energy, you can draw your health bar (meaning that it’ll have a lower cap) in order to regenerate energy just like resources.

Mutation: Children that are stuck to the ground and do nothing but produce more children as long as they’re fed. Different foods will yield different types of children.

Action: Place these new children around the tower

Guys we should try to use diplomacy, charisma and TO’s intelligencd to estabilish a shadow government over the country, then spread it to other countries and use social engineering to make the world merge into a singular government that is controlled by us from the shadows (and also to reduce things like crimes and increase stability).

Minor mutation: expansion of lobes related to empathy.

Mutation: New caste: Diplomat - The diplomat caste will be the most human-like caste, with their body being entirely humanoid in shape (unlike TO’s half human body) but they are still distinguishable from humans by the fact that their extremities are covered in an exoskeleton and that they have antennae.

Diplomats have a much more complex face than TO, making them capable of making the same range of facial expressions that a human can.

The bodies and charateristics of diplomats are structured in such a way that they will look beautiful, even their non human parts are made to add prettiness/cuteness to the diplomat, big example of such is that their exoskeleton looks more like armor than the carapace of insects.

Diplomats have brains very similiar to TO’s upper brain, but with key differences: areas associated eith logic and problem solving shrink in favor of the growth of areas associated with empathy, verbal functions and memory, making them less intelligent (but still on the range of 120-140 IQ); in addition tissue of evolving neurons that in TO would be located in lobes associated with problem solving are instead located in lobes associated with empathy, allowing them to better understand other people.

Like all modern castes, diplomats also have the capability of communicating remotely between each other and TO using radiowaves.

All diplomats look like women.

Action: make diplomats.

You might have noticed that I explicitely made diplomats distinguishable from humans, that is important, as we have to make them think that we cant make castes externally indistinguishable from humans so that they won’t suspect future spy castes.

Also, diplomats being beautiful is important, as humans subconsciously make the connection between beauty and goodness. (For reference on how they more or less look you can use the avatar of the vtuber Juniper, althought diplomats obviously don’t have the moth-like features)

I guess it now has somewhere near 200 IQ, probably a bit lower.

m: the conduit caste transmits information along its conduits via two bundles of extremely long cells that have cylindrical walls with a much higher refractive index than water. These cells have a membrane on each side that fuses to another membrane of the same type whenever the two membranes touch, making them essentially be easily repairable fiber optic cables, especially with how they grow small photoreceptors cells on one side and cells that glow when given a signal on the other side.
TlDr: fiber optic cables for high speed information transfer, and the stuff to make them work.

Mutation: children that are essentially digestion vats that have an extremely acidic stomach that takes up 90% of its body and has direct access to the air, with its only neurons being ones for telling its organs what to do. Putting two of them right next to eachother while they mature makes a version that has two digestive systems, one stomach using regular stomach acid, and the other using water mixed with as much ammonia as it can hold. The first type has hemolymph, gas, and fiber optic connectors, while the second one has those, a wire connector, and a connector that intentionally doesn’t connect to the conduits, as it outputs water with an extremely high metal and ammonia content that is intended to be evaporated so the metals crystallize into easy to carry shapes(like bricks). The metals stomach has a thick skin lining it and its very short intestinal tract to not get metal poisoning
However, due to the sheer weight of water, these children do not grow sturdy enough exoskeletons to support their weight while they are full of water/bile, so supports must be made for them by workers, and they require a conduit nearby to properly grow.
TLDR: stomachs that, if grown close together, become a food stomach with a twin that dissolves metal with ammonia so it can be made more transportable.

Action: ponder how we could make a living, modular Gundam, what castes we’ll need to do that, and how big the optimal size for a brain that communicates between lobes with self healing fiber optics is.

ANT GUNDAMS! preferably ones that regularly back up their brains though, so we can have self destructing and reconstructing ant gundams.

It it’s really valuable then shouldn’t it be on the deepest place possible? This reminds me, we should make an anti-tower below the tower, an enourmous pit that reaches the core of the Earth.

Ooh! We should make a caste that eats the ground in a downwards spiral as deep as it can survive, then adapts to the heat and goes deeper, so we can mine as many planets as we want!

Speaking of that, we should have a caste that’s basically a Dyson seed(it would basically be like a larva that can move in 0g with the goal of finding a planet it likes to find out where it’ll be when the larva gets there, so it can aim there, accellerate, and go into stasis til it gets there so it can grow up and turn into a Dyson swarm factory that interacts with the local life forms if they exist, and colonizes the deep parts of the planet that nothing else alive can reach.) once we get to galaxy conquering

I’d rather use technology for deep boring rather than making castes that adapt to the heat.
