Can Deus use the base layer to change the structure of cyberspace?

It can use the cyberspace injector to alter the cyberspace, but using the regular-layer injector to do that would be far harder to achieve.

The basal layer is the one in which the forum architecture is located and that is accessed by the cyberspace injector (not the regular layer).

Mutation 1: Use the injector in order to send a message to the red divine energy source by asking what it is.

Mutation 2: Set up a machine soul so that it can use the covenant account to modify a post in the New Trench in order to feed the organisms.

Cov mutations:

Sapiobots: Research how to use divine energy to our advantage.

Teakinges: Research how to convert post substrate into cyber-energy.

Doom: Research how to convert post substrate into GE metal, which should be more efficent than just creating it from energy.

Catsquared: Design a machine capable of harvesting large quantities of post substrate very quickly.

Devourling: Divine energy facility again.

Mad beasts: Work on installing more defenses in New Trench.

Darren: Invent the “Bubble Shredder”, a weapon that creates miniature event horizon bubbles in an enemy, tearing their body apart as the parts that are inside the bubbles become unable to connect with the ones outside.

Willow: Attempt to find a way to make organisms that do not depend on the divine energy to remain alive.

I have no idea what to do… (sry, I have just stuck with tests about how to create golems and how to use microscopias)

  1. Use the power of GE for make better augment for the others allians for booste they creativity (and maybe join the glouris evolution with me)
  2. ant like behaver with the mindhive power like by using the GE for fast growth
  3. ice cream

I see. Strange times require even stranger solutions I suppose.

Round 57 - Year 4, Month 11

As the forum enters a new month, from the eyes of an user things are rather regular, whatever might that mean in these times, but from the perspective of Deus for example, things are looking less predictable and light than ever before possibly…

Non-Species Entities

Misc. Group

CORROSION STATUS:
-??? HP
-Unknown Abilities, suspected to be powerful
-Looks like a mass of mechanical parts, of which many are rather sharp, coated mostly with plates the color of Friedrick, ever morphing with the sharper parts rising above and under the surface of the being all the time. Size of The Devourer (1.5x Huge Size).
-A powerful source of Divine Energy

Action: -

Corrosion currently seems to be getting ready for what’s to come soon, and by that it’s meant… the entity has seemingly been playing around and doing random stuff, through it is travelling most of the time. It’s motives are rather clear to Deus through…

Outsider Group

STARGUN STATUS:
-10/10 HP (Regen: 2HP/Round)
-Has two abilities: Jumping High and Far, and Shooting From It’s Gun
-Looks like a rifle-like gun installed ontop of a starfish-like being
-Appears to have been created from two different entities

STUMPSPAWN STATUS:
-?? HP
-Suspected to have 2 abilities (needs more research)
-Looks somewhat like a stump, with 4 large legs used for walking and 4 smaller, more upward-facing “roots” between the legs, and a bark-like texture. The top of the being is occupied by a large strusture which looks like a closed flower the color of a pink rose
-Appears to have been created from two different entities

SHARPWING STATUS:
-?? HP
-Suspected to have 2 abilities (needs more research)
-The main body appears to have lots of sharp, spear-like appendages at the bottom and on the sides, at the top there are two pairs of wings attatched to a bulge running the length of the entity. Always flying.
-Appears to have been created from two different entities

SPADEBUG STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like some sort of a beetle, the tips of it’s legs are tipped with sharp spearheads through

SANITIZER STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a blob with 8 octopus-like tentacles, which in themselves have hollow cones at their ends, opening up from the side of their bases.

SERPHANT STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a fiery snake with 3 pairs of insect-like wings at the top of it’s body which allow it to fly somewhat

SHIELDSWORD STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a shield-shaped hybrid of an isopod and a tortoise, possessing two large “blades” in the narrow section of the shield which have a surprisingly large degree of movement and rotation.

SONAR STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a tripod table, but instead of the table surface there’s a sphere at the top of the “torso”

SPEEDER STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a very thin spider or even a harvestman, known to be able to reach quite the impressive velocities.

Band Action: Create a shelter within TOR PM (6/6)

Being informed about the large power the covenant and the darkblur wield by the friendly users of TOR, the 9 outsiders decided to creature shelters within some of the posts existing in TOR’s PM hosting these critters. Not only have they made one complete shelter, they made a few, which can fit inside all the outsiders! These shelters can likely be used to shield the nine if some catastrophe happens to hit the entire forum, including the PMs, or could be used by heavily injured outsiders to recover in their safe interiors. It appears that after this building effort, these entities will start going after the one who hurt them more actively…
Though, TOR isn’t perfect at keep the aliens’ secrets within the PMs, as one of TOR’s members accidentally annouced that Stargun has fully recovered, allowing other users to estimate just how much health that being can regenerate each month…

Mistdom Group

DARKBLUR STATUS:

-60/60 HP (Regenerates 5 HP per Month[Round])
-Insanely fast, can scale hundreds of posts in seconds
-Looks like a disturbing pseudo-humanoid figure within a “dark bubble”
-One known offensive ability - “Hypnosis” (can convert weaker-minded entities to it’s side)
-Suspected to have attained more abilities following it’s absorption of The Mistorb, only time will tell what they are…
-By far the most powerful member of The Mistdom, EVER
-Fused with the soul of a rather obsessed, insane mistdom-aligned user
-Has some users on it’s command (unknown to other community members)
-Has two action votes it casts every Month(Round)
-Controls BSA (which is given an order by darkblur every month [round])

Action 1: Take over BSA (3/6)
Action 2: Take over BSA (3/6)
BSA Action: - (1/6, failed)

Feeling now ready to do the final act of closing on BSA, Darkblur made two rather mediocore plans and fused them into one that should guarantee total takeover of the core of the salvatious alliance’s core, and by controlling the core, control can also start seeping into the outer layers of the organization and even into the users less involved in the organization side of the forum. The two plans would be put to life over a month, and they resulted in the entirety of BSA’s core userbase falling under more or less direct control of the blur. From the outside, the alliance still seems like a friendly grouping of pro-biota users, but who has seen the recently-formed PMs of the alliance would develop a much different opinion - a darkblur pseudocult. This weird pseudocult however completely ommitted darkblur’s first command towards it as it was too busy adapting the alliance to such new style…

NPC - Sapiepoda TeaKinges, “The Crawler” - HO

  • Medium Omnivore

Mutations: Wing-Legs X 2 (+2 F Speed)
DM: Soil-to-Cyberenergy (6/6, +1 Stealth)

S. TeaKinges aerobatics enthusiasts have noticed that the flying capabilities of the Sapiepodish kin have fallen behind quite a bit in the recent times, especially after the advent of the bionic legs which were distributed by The Devourer’s domains. However before them was a huge problem to solve - the wing techniques the crawlers have developed over years in the forum have been stretched to their maximum potential, and it didn’t seem like anything could make a crawling ever faster whilst airborne at that point. As many of the flight enjoyers started to lose hope, one of them suggested an idea rather radical, risky, and potentially deadly for those who would try partaking in it - the artificial wing technology could be applied to the many legs the TeaKingal brethren have, which would greatly increase the degree of possible manauvers possible in the air. Many in the group seeking to improve the aerobatics saw this as a proposal too radical to possibly accept, but others ended up taking the risk. While the initial results of the surgeries didn’t seem promosing, soon enough the recipents of these “wings-on-legs” or wing-legs would show an incredible increase in the amount of possibilities in which the air-travelling speed could be pushed up. And not just that, the wing implants didn’t have a negative impact on the walking speeds of those who got them! Very quickly did the limb wings spread across the crawler communities, as the one to originally propose the idea and oversee the surgeries was lost to time…
As the month was unfolding with the advent of these new wings, Deus had some members of the crawling research guild travel to the laboratory to find ways of converting the ever-regenerating forum soil into something more useful - that being in this case cyberenergy. In the chambers of the laboratory, repaired after the blur’s raid a few months ago, the scientists from the first species to attain sapience discovered a method of generating cyberenergy from soil so efficient that they instantly also got the idea of plugging some of themselves into this powerful source of energy, giving them more awareness of their surroundings than before. Very quickly this plugging method would start being used by the warriors of this species, which started plugging themselves briefly into portable soil-to-cyberenergy converterts, in order to gain longer-term benefits. The question just is if this method isn’t like a drug that appears helpful at first only to reveal it’s darker secrets later on…

@doomlightning - Neodichorisare Cogitandi, “Divider” - HO

  • Small Herbivore

Mutations: GEM Creativity (+1 Stealth to ALL covenant species), GEM Fast Growth (+1 Strenght), Ice Cream (+1 Strenght)
DM: Soil-to-GEM (+1 Strenght)

Nd. Cogitandi has had all it’s efforts focused on improving the glory of the already holy metal, which is what this species and civilization has been doing for many months now, across generations of various dividers. Once again, at the beginning of the month, a new type of GEM technology to be shared was invented - GEM-boosted creativity. By putting special GEM implants inside of the minds (brains) of other speciesmates from The Covenant, the creativity factor of their personality would be greatly increased, which is quite useful when trying to hide for instance. This marks an another deed that turned out to be a species from the Neodichorisarid kin to the rest of the biota! GEM was however also found to be capable of inducing more physical properties into those with whom it’s infused with, as it turned out that by linking many juveniles with GEM implants already present inside their bodies, the said bodies would grow a lot faster into their mature state. This effectively decreases the amount of time a newborn Cogitand stays unuseful to the society of this species. The last invention this month was quite strange, as it wasn’t directly related to GEM - for some strange reason, basing off the life experiences of the users of the forum, the leadership of the dividerling species has decided that ice cream is the best food source to exist and hence it should be adopted as the supreme and superior food of all the dividers. What sort of ice cream originated from this statement however was nothing like the type eaten by humans - this ice cream was very nutritious, dense and saturating, and ontop of that it didn’t go bad quite as fast as the letters did! The formula for making this sort of food is still hidden as a top secret of the divider brethren, but maybe one day it could be shared with other species…
Deus meanwhile was too aiding this species much like all the others over the course of this month, as the godlike entity made a rather smart suggestion to some Neodichorisarids: They should probably consider converting the regenerating forum soil into GEM instead of making it out of this air. In a matter of days, soil-originating GEM became the most popular type of GEM on the markets and shops around the forum, as the new technique spread fast, far and wide, giving a new purpose to the GEM-coated posts too!

Mutations: Extra Artifical Species Mutations X 3 (5/6, 3/6, 1/6 - Enough)
DM: Soil-Harvester (1/6)

M. Cat-Bestiae cultists, and especially the Devourer standing atop their hierarchy, were getting increasingly deep into research making the artificial species have their mutation rates boosted. These efforts were so dire that even the devourling crabs were ordered to help out with the task so that the mad beasts could have their mutation rate increased. If these efforts do end up being successful, this could recover The Devourer’s reputation within The Covenant, as lately quite the culted entity was accused of trying to start a conflict between the alliance of the forum species and the outsiders and their devoted users. These accussations didn’t come just from minor parties within the populaces of the base forums of The Covenant species, but from some of the major gods being some of the strongest entities The Covenant has in it’s armies. As so the efforts could cook two meats on the same stove that way.
The archmage god, Deus, tried to convince some Cat-Beasts cultists to go and researching technology that would harvest lots of forum soul for future use, but no cultists were found free for that sort of job - all were busy helping The Devourer and working alongside the cult crabs in their quest to make the mad cats evolve and act faster than before!

Mutations: Extra Artifical Species Mutations (to M. Cat-Bestiae)
DM: Divine Energy Facility (3/6)

C. Cultus populace, still restricted to the new trench PM, was eager to help it’s master species, M. Cat-Bestiae and especially the leader of the said species, The Devourer, in their mission to raise the mutation rate of an artificial species - through not this species sadly for some of the crab cultists, but instead for the thrall-like mad-beast brethren, too united under the Devourer’s domainage. No matter what, they all have arrived at the site of the laboratory where The Devourer ordered the cat-beast and the devourling crab researchers to gather and begin their research. It all took a few days, and resulted in pretty decent results, though some teams of crabs and beasts ended up finding out more than others. Now all that remained was waiting for when the knowledge would be applied to the mad beast folk…
Immedietly after the researchers’ departure however Deus would guide the crab ones right back into the laboratory, into the section meant to become the divine energy facility already a month ago. The scientists, tired by their research on the artificial species genetics already, weren’t so willing to partake in this task with no break, but they had to under the command of such a powerful entity. Soon enough the facility would be ready to use - even if signs of the ones who made it being tired at the time of construction were rather clearly visible from within the new section.

Catsquared - Multipoda Demens, “Mad Beasts” - HO

  • Tiny Omnivore

Mutations: More Mutations (6/6, +1 M/R)
DM: More NT Defenses

M. Demens was the only species not invited by The Devourer into researching the ways of increasing the mutation rate of the rather slow-acting-in-long-term artificial species, which category happens to include both this species and the cultist crabs. Some of the smarter mad beasts were pondering on why their kin was not invited by the sacred eater, and eventually they came to the conclusion that there simply isn’t enough of the thrall-like Demens brethren smart enough to justify bringing the little of them there is to the research site, that being the laboratory. As so they would start colonizing the wilderness beyond the Renewed Trench even more, now attaining the “Highly Overpopulated” status most species have. They weren’t expecting that very soon an agent would be released that would change them all. At first, it seemed like all the mad beasts caught some sort of flu, but after a while, when the immediete effects of the agent have passed, these beasts noticed that they could now work better long term, so much so that instead of just one big effort being able to be taken out by the entire species over a month, now two could be done the same month! Joy spread across the armies of this species, now that they have come closer to the divine, sacred and holy “regular species”, as the artificial ones view their creators and other natural species.
This joy would be soon capitalized on by Deus, which would have some of the rather angry beasts (as their name would suggest) taken to work on creating even more fortifications in the New Trench PM, the home to The Devourer and the Devourling Crabs, which wasn’t much of a problem as many thrall beasts went there to thank their god and ruler. Soon enough, no matter where an user looked, there were multiple bunkers, fortifications, smaller trenches and other military infrastructure present all over the multiple PMs making up this new iteration of The Trench.

Mutations: New Drone Weapons X 2 (+2 Strenght)
DM: Bubble Shredder (+1 Strenght)

P. Narrenists’s commanders were increasingly interested in increasing the power the drone swarms under their command hold, however as their agility and dexterity were already quite high and ways to increase them up new high were few and unreliable, they instead opted for making the swarms wield fare more weaponry than before. Remember the horizonshooter? Now it’s a standard weapon wielded by the drone swarms, alongside many more, with the various drones wielding the various weapons making up entire swarms that have all the weapon types the darren kin has invented so far at their disposal. There even are kamikaze drones flying within the metal clouds of terror!
But these commanders weren’t the only ones interested in the drones, as Deus also came along and observed the high destructive output of these little machines making large clouds. One sort of weapon attracted the attention of the highest mages’ god though, that being the horizonshooter. Deus would order this weapon to be improved and refined into new subtypes, as it saw great potential in it. The war scientists of the narrenist armies would then go on and upgrade this weapon into increasingly brutal new tools over the span of the month, with the most successful new weapon stemming from the shooter of the horizons being the “bubble shredder”, a somewhat shotgun-like weapon that created multiple small event horizons all over the place where it hits, most usually leading to huge structural damage to whatever buildings it hits aswell as a quick and painful death for all it creates the horizons within.

Mutations: Red Source Message (5/6), Account Letterplanting (3/6)
Sapiobots: Divine Energy Usage (6(5+1)/6)

Deus would become intrigued by the strange red source of divine power eminating the closest to the forum out of all the 5 sources of this sort of energy detected beyond the forumclad. Using the injector like a typewriter, the strange entity Deus is would compose a message asking the source what it is (assuming it’s even alive and sapient). The said injector was also calibrated by the personnel of it’s, that being mostly sapiepods, to have the optimalmost frequency and type of signal to reach the source (context: sapiepod action results).
The message has been sent. Sapiepods were waiting in the laboratory’s freshly built divine energy department to see what happens to the source.
After a few dozen seconds, strange signals started to reach the laboratory, originating from the red source. They were recorded using an another device. Very quickly some sapiepods recognized the patterns recorded by the device as human voice waves, complex enough to decode a speech from what was being written by the device.
Just a minute and a few seconds after the injector sent the message, a sapiepod came up to from where Deus was watching and started to “translate” the waves back into human speech, which by this point has become understandable by Deus. Note that the sapiepod’s translation caused Deuses vision to see what’s being translated as red in it’s mind, as if even having these words translated from a device still made the original color of the source persist:

Who’s that speaking to me? Oh wait… “Source of Energy Divine, Please tell us what you are…” I see, the creatures I’ve planted in the forum have taken their focus off where it was supposed to be…

This… definitely didn’t mean anything good. Not only has the source not responded to the message sent by Deus, it also seems to have said that the creatures of the forum are not looking where they’re supposed to. A few seconds later, an another portion of the response was translated:

Hey Corrosion, my boy, could you do a little favour for me? I need you to prevent the organisms in the forum from viewing us and what we’re talking about. Letting them do that seems rather… unwise.

Even more concerning was this part. Not only does there seem to be a second entity, the color it was spoken with doesn’t match any the sapiebots discovered to correlate with the 5 sources.

The translator sapiebot also reported that, presumably, this Corrosion entity responded to the red one, just before translating the next part:

Yes, make sure they can never overhear me or you after this blow. Also, as they’re most likely watching us using the forbidden devices of theirs, show yourself to them before descending upon the forum. Good Luck!

Right after this message was sent, before Deus could even fully process it, the sapiebot said that a new source, this one being far weaker than the red and rapidly approaching the forum as it seems. A few seconds later it added that the source seems to be of brown color - so it indeed is the Corrosion entity the other one talked with…

Deus started to plan in panic as this godlike entity feared a true god would arrive in the forum. And it’s fears would indeed be confirmed - first the sapiebots reported than the source which was approaching the forum seemingly entered it, as the devices used to observe divine energy now could only see brown everywhere. After a few dozen minutes some forum users reported seeing a strange entity - it looked rather mechanical, made mechanical sounds the forum should never be making for the users of it’s to hear. However only after a while it was recognized what this being truly was - for one forum moderator, CoffeePresident, jokingly commented that it’s hue of brown looks strangely familiar, and right after that an another user recognized the entity as an ever-morphing, changing version of… The “Fredrick” Animatronic, the mascot of the “Friedrick’s” pizzeria network. While most of the users think this is just a silly joke, the covenant’s leaders are truly horrified of this entity - for they suspect and fear what it was sent for here…

Before all this happened, Deus would order some of the smartest of the already quite smart sapiebots to come forward with possible uses to the mysteriously unattainable divine energy that seemingly fills the entire forum, in some places more and in others less. Through just like before this group, this time mechanical, too concluded the usually reached conclusion of this sort of power not being replicable, they did find one important use to the energy - seemingly by adjusting the instruments inside the laboratory to only see this sort of energy and then shifting what sort of color do they want to see, they could make out the sources of this energy way more clearly. The source most powerful obviously was seen the sharpest in the red spectrum of light, but this new technique also allowed the other 4 sources to have their colors “decoded”: One was of a green-ish color, another one was of a gray-ish color, and the third one was of a blue-ish color. Strangely enough, the last of the 4 lesser sources, being near the blue one, was the most visible in three spectrums: colorless (or black), yellow and red. The robotic researchers sent this data back to Deus, as they suspect using these channels might make any communication attempts with the sources easier…

On an another note, amidst the arrival of the new entity Deus tried to calm itself down by putting a machine-soul behind the controls of the account this “forum god” has been using for quite a while now. It hoped the soul would produce enough letters to sustain the populations of species endemic to the new trench PM all by itself, but it seems like the soul behind the account isn’t used to operating it and so is rather inefficient at it’d job, needing usual aid from MwTC users not to divert too much from it’s course of constantly creating new letters to be eaten.

The Anti-Mistworm experienced an yet another strenghtening, this time boosting the power of the species under the covenant banner an order of magnitude higher than before. It seems like these stronger upgrades will become the norm soon, just like how these moderately strong ones evolved up to this point used to be unheard of for a long time back at the beginning of the white worm’s existance…

@willow - Cancrorum Venenatorum, “Venomous Wall Crab” - HO

  • Small Herbivore + Parasite

Mutations: Better Metabolism (+1 B Speed), S-Soul Species (6/6)
DM: Divineless Survival (3/6)
SSS: - (1 M/R)

C. Venenatorum would start to prepare themselves better this month for the splitting of a new “soul-species”. First, across the entire populace of the wallcrab kin swept a few new genes which made the metabolism of these wall-clinging critters far more efficient than before, enabling faster movement as the directmost consequence. Following this came more direct preparations - the souls meant for splitting off into the species were made to consume some matter instead of energy, as it’s seen as a more efficient method over feeding them pure energy from energy-containing souls.
Eventually the day of the second attempt arrived. Some of the ones leading the previous attempts were still alive to witness this one. And truly wonderful it was, as the sustainable souls quickly split into new forms, before they all locked down on one form to follow, eventually creating a type of soul so different from the wallcrab ones that they were titled a new species. The species however clings close to the sites of Cancrorum, and still seems to be on the commands of it’s creator species, but as it’s so divergent and has a considerable populace at this point, it’s seen as a similar situation to the sapiebots and F. Spiritusvivi - a new “fief” under the command of it’s creator.
Speaking of F. Spiritusvivi, the god of this species (that being Deus) tried to have the researchers whom have split off the soul species make advancements on finding a way to survive in the hostile environment lying beyond the forum’s clad. Not all of them were willing to join in, and they had to make the tests in secret, for the society of wallcrabs doesn’t really like when some among them are killed for no apparent direct benefit. But the new research only refined what already was suspected before - the species inside the forum physically require the presence of divine energy to survive, for else they perish quickly no matter under what form they are sent to areas devoid of this sort of energy.

Maybe someone will connect a secret in my current PFP to what’s been revealed this round…

Belgium?!

That action was more about researching a way to create new life that doesn’t need divine energy to exist.

Hmm, I see. Well then now the wallcrabs might have an idea as to how they can make such a lifeform…

A source of Divine Energy even…

the new species shall be named Cancrorum Cerecorpus(for ‘mind body’)
C. venenatorum
M1: use small plank-souls to attempt to create a new (extremely weak) source of divine energy
M2: possess some F. spiritusvivi, and have the wallcrabs within the archmages assist them with thinking

C. Cerecorpus
M: more efficient matter conversion
