Survival in the Forum

what about things that are like viruses and holographic data storage?

they’re not exactly alive, and they were never alive, but they both had to be made by something that was at least created by something a living organism made, and one is just a clear rock full of bubbles that could code for literally anything

then there’s also stuff like the golden record on the voyager 1 that we could send out

and is it just the forum that can hold the forum life, or can other hospitable sources of divine energy also keep forum life alive?

Both would get dissolved. + The Voyager Record: Forum Edition

I recall I wrote in one of the divine energy study vote results that there is a persistent low level of divine energy across the entire forum. That’s the level at which organisms may live.

I forgot about my exsisting:

  1. deeper the effect of GE to finally manipulate the energy himself
  2. improve senses using the GE
  3. Become invisible to the ‘gods’ with the use of GE

You have 3 mutations this round.

Edit:

Are you sure you want to do that? It has a chance (not definitive enough so will use a dice) to do:

and i’m guessing above that doesn’t do much, since we didn’t all die by fighting corrosion?
and also how did the creatures from the other forums get here if all of the things dissolve outside of a divine presence?

You might’ve not noticed but Corrosion was holding back.

That will be answered after the finale.

i was under the impression that was just in terms of not using the full strength of a god?
we beat corrosion because they decided to not just put themselves back together after being torn apart, and because they didn’t try very hard to not get torn apart

Well in the ending sequence they’re ought to use more of what they have…

Round 62 - Year 5, Month 4

As the covenant seems to be thinking of changing it’s main form of nutrition from letters of cyberenergy seemingly, the outsiders have finally reached the New Trench PM, where after some negotiations they are still bound to their mission of ending Devourer once and for all.

Non-Species Entities

Outsider Group

STARGUN STATUS:
-10/10 HP (Regen: 2HP/Round)
-Has two abilities: Jumping High and Far, and Shooting From It’s Gun

-Appears to have been created from two different entities

STUMPSPAWN STATUS:
-?? HP
-Has two abilities: Energy Shield and Plant-Bee Spawning
-Looks somewhat like a stump, with 4 large legs used for walking and 4 smaller, more upward-facing “roots” between the legs, and a bark-like texture. The top of the being is occupied by a large strusture which looks like a closed flower the color of a pink rose
-Appears to have been created from two different entities

SHARPWING STATUS:
-?/10 HP (Regen: ?HP/Round)
-One known ability: Launching Spears, One unknown ability
-The main body appears to have lots of sharp, spear-like appendages at the bottom and on the sides, at the top there are two pairs of wings attatched to a bulge running the length of the entity. Always flying.
-Appears to have been created from two different entities

SPADEBUG STATUS:

-Looks like a fiery snake with 3 pairs of insect-like wings at the top of it’s body which allow it to fly somewhat

SHIELDSWORD STATUS:
-? HP
-One known ability: Slashing Barrage
-Looks like a shield-shaped hybrid of an isopod and a tortoise, possessing two large “blades” in the narrow section of the shield which have a surprisingly large degree of movement and rotation.

SPEEDER STATUS:
-? HP
-Suspected to have a single ability (needs more research)
-Looks like a very thin spider or even a harvestman, known to be able to reach quite the impressive velocities.

Band Action: Destroy The Devourer

Navigating the mazes of the PMs that lead to New Trench, excitement and worry began to rise in members of the band, as they knew they were getting closer to their nearly eternal goal - Devourer. When they finally saw a large thread with an insane amount of fortifications, they know they reached the place where their ancient raider resides. Just when they noticed this entity they were searching for ever since they found themselves in the forum, a strange cyan-ish being approached them - it was apparently the avatar of the leader of the covenant, whose member Devourer is. This avatar managed to convince the band of nine to abandon all it’s goals besides giving justice to the mass murderer present in the PM. After realizing it can’t achieve anything more in these negotiations, the avatar moved to the side, as the nine approached the Devourer and the various cultists around it - and they noticed the outsiders too.

Mistdom Group

DARKBLUR STATUS:

-1/60 HP (Regenerates 5 0 HP per Month[Round])
-Insanely fast, can scale hundreds of posts in seconds
-Looks like a disturbing pseudo-humanoid figure within a “dark bubble”
-Three known offensive ability - “Hypnosis” (can convert weaker-minded entities to it’s side), “Darkbeams” (light ranged attack), “Shadowblast” (AOE attack)
-Suspected to have attained more abilities following it’s absorption of The Mistorb, only time will tell what they are…
-By far the most powerful member of The Mistdom, EVER
-Fused with the soul of a rather obsessed, insane mistdom-aligned user
-Has some users on it’s command (unknown to other community members)
-Has two action votes it casts every Month(Round)
-Controls BSA (which is given an order by darkblur every month [round], has 50% of reroll in case of roll of 1)
-Darkblur is now trapped in the Tartarus, incapable of actions at the moment
-Now being left on it’s own, with some having witnessed the fatal battle, BSA will try to reorganize and find it’s master.

BSA (darkblur-aligned faction) Action: Separate and Isolate (2/6)

Darkblur may no longer have direct influence on the core of BSA, but indirectly it still drives them on their path they’re forging for themselves. With the outer layers of BSA being suspected to have been converted atleast partially by the covenant, the more darkblur-aligned individuals at the core of the alliance have made the decision to separate themselves from the “doomed alliance” and instead form an isolated group that will be safe from the influence of covenant. However, the process seems to be taking a while, and will only have completed next month. Meanwhile, the surface layer of BSA has essentialy became opposed to the values of the core of the alliance, whilst Deus stripped some members of the mistdom faction of BSA away, weakening the last major user bastion of the mist’s group within the forum even more.

Species

NPC - Sapiepoda TeaKinges, “The Crawler” - HO

  • Medium Omnivore

Mutations: Superior Senses X 2 (+2 Stealth), Warrior God Improvements (+1 Stealth)
DM: Outsider-Cages

S. TeaKinges, as the species to develop quite the complex warrior society within itself, have always valued the sensory abilities that allow for the art of fighting to even be possible. So far however the Sapiepods were considerably held back by their biological constrains, despite them adopting various technologies from other species enhancing their senses, like the glorious metal for example. This month, the leadership of the species, made up of some of it’s wisest members, finally decided to tackle this problem by dedicating many researchers of this ilk to come up with a solution that would not only stop senses from degrading as one ages, a problem seemingly faced by all “mortals” of the forum realm, but also enhance the said senses to new heights, collectively rivalling the truesight of the wall crabs at least. Working hard day and night, conducting many experiments on both themselves and subjects, the researchers would edge their way towards the technologies that would expand the reach of TeaKingal sights, smells and hearing beyond their previous borders and boundaries. Finally, just like always, near the end of the month the technology was released into the public and quickly adopted by the whole populace. On the sidelines of this scientific journey for upgraded senses, the warrior god received some upgrades, mostly relating to better senses, as the leadership certainly doesn’t want to have their species god become senile - what sort of shame would that be!
Meanwhile Deus, having certain worries about what might the nine outsiders be up to in the Private Messsages belonging to Mistworm Termination Council, and by extention the covenant, ordered various architects of the crawler kin to create cages, similar to the one currently holding the blur within, but instead of one there would be nine of these, each to hold one “alien” in the dreaded Tartarus. Hopefully, none will need to be used…

@doomlightning - Neodichorisare Cogitandi, “Divider” - HO

  • Small Herbivore

Mutations: GEM-Energy Control (+1 Strength), GEM-senses (+1 Stealth), GEM Divine Invisibility (-1 Divine population damage)
DM: Build Outsider Cages

Nd. Cogitandi has as always in the recent times extending little dividers know how long into the past been focusing on improving the capabilities of the already quite the sacred metal of glory. First thing to be tackled this month by the hivemind of divider researchers was the ability to channel energy through the metal, which would certainly increase the power one with the metal holds quite the much. For around a week, various lightnings would light up across the forum, mostly around where the Cogitandids live, being failed experiments regarding the desired energy-channeling prospect for GEM. Finally, a stabler result would be refined and soon GEM modified with it went into circulation, to slowly replace older GEM types. Seeing the determination of the crawling brethren from the covenant to achieve better senses, the dividers too started to strive for the same thing, which’s research would make up the second week of the month for the scientists. This time failures usually resulted in various coma-like conditions on the test subjects, in effect causing them to get terminated. Many had to die before sense-improving GEM became the standard to be bought. Lastly this month, a more specific usage of GEM was requested by the hivemind collective - protection against being seen by the divine above. Not exactly being able to tell what would work and what wouldn’t here, the researchers took a week and a half to figure out the solution most likely to work…
(4/6)
As the new breed of GEM entered the market, it seems like the beings of mysterious nature from beyond the forum didn’t care about this invention targetting them over anything else. More of such inventions however might not be so lucky in avoiding their sight…

@CatSquared - Multipoda Cat-Bestiae, “Cat Beasts” - UC

  • Tiny Omnivore

Mutations: Bionic Leg Upgrade X 3 (+3 W Speed to ALL Covenant Species)
DM: Sapiobot aid

M. Cat-Bestiae cultists have became rather completely interested in the bionic leg technology this species has invented not that long ago. Being able not just to attatch new legs where old ones “fell off”, but also attatch brand new legs to a body, this is seen as a rather useful technology that raises the position of this species aswell as the whole Devourer domain even higher on the covenant stage. Fortunately or not, the bionic leg technology still has many things that could be improved with it, though lots of effort would be required to cover most of these “easy” improvements. This is exactly what the cat beast ilk would do this month - all the four weeks of it they dedicated on making sure the bionic legs are perfected, no matter the species. New trench may not perfectly represent the terrains the wilderness has to offer, but it for sure is still an acceptable environment for testing the artificial limbs. After weeks of testing, for new prototypes to the final acceptance on the production lines, the flagship techpiece of the Devourer’s little kingdom has reached new heights of usability, accelerating faster than anyone could have imagined even a month ago.
Some cultists however were not focused on improving the legs for all this time, as Deus recruited many cultists to aid Sapiepods in their quest for seeking if purely cyberenergy-fed life is even possible.

Cultus, with it’s level of species-wide action or mutation count per a month reaching two and a half recently, being on the same level as most other species, decided to put this amount of actions capable of being taken to use and help the domain of the Devourer’s with it’s quest of converting Biota Salvation Alliance from a Darkblur-afflicted puppet into a Covenant-friendly organization. Many devourer-crabs would leave the safe home of New Trench where, alongside the cat beasts and the mad beasts, they live most of the time, and quickly found their way to the PMs of less loyal members of BSA, some of which already were targeted by a previous Dementic expedition, to finish the work of their brethren. As it turns out the relations between the “Core” of BSA and it’s “Surface” layer aren’t going very well, for the center of the alliance continues to be extremely pro-darkblur, whereas the surface layers have been rendered neutral recently and don’t wish to stay under the leadership of the core. Some of the Surface-BSA members even said the Core plans to secede and turn into an isolated cult-alliance that would lower to the levels of Gamernicegames even perhaps, though this is only a theory within the surface of BSA for now. With this new crab expedition however, the surface is now nearly as pro-covenant as the core is pro-blur
Meanwhile Deus ordered the remaining crabs to work on creating giant generators in a PM devoid of users - Nexus that is. The machines that would come to create massive amounts of cyberenergy would soon enough stand upright, ready to fullfill their sole function.

Catsquared - Multipoda Demens, “Mad Beasts” - UC

  • Tiny Omnivore

Mutations: BSA influence X 2 (1/6, 5/6)
DM: Nexus Harvesters

M. Demens would come notice the mission of the devourling crabs quite easily this month. Seeing them repeat what them themselves did a month before, the thralls wished to aid in making BSA pro-covenant once more. After the return of the crab expedition, the first team of thralls mobilized by the swarms of M. Demens would go… only for all of it’s members to fall into the void when crossing some random gap between two posts. The second team would thankfully find much more luck than the first one, successfully reaching their goal for the first, and for the second finding the local users rather friendly and willing to convert towards covenant even more. With the job already having been mostly done by the crabs previously this month, the beasts of the mad kind finished the said job, by bringing the surface layer of BSA as close to the covenant as the core of BSA is close to the blur, or alteast it’s ideals now that darkblur is trapped forever most likely.
Deus meanwhile would send the rest of the swarm to work alongside the crabs of the devourling kind to Nexus, where the crabs would be given work on the Generators of Cyberenergy, whereas the mad beasts would be assigned to creating the harvesters, large machines consuming soil. Their mechanical moving parts would claim the lives of few unluckly thralls, but soon enough the purpose for which this PM was created would be fullfilled - the production of cyberenergy started…

NPC - Paucipoda Narrenists, “Darren” - HO

  • Huge Omnivore

Mutations: Flying Navy X 3 (+3 Strength)
DM: Repair Throne

P. Narrenists woke up to a pleasent surprise when they heard that The Throne managed to capture Darkblur successfully. This however would also make the leadership of the Narrenist kin realize the power this flying battleship possesses could find a better use in a navy of flying behemoth machines. The production of the first “mini-thrones” didn’t take very long as all the basics were already known thanks to the designs of The Throne having already been used to produce it by this species. Now, planes and jets aren’t the only thing traversing the skies anymore - though they remain the fastest flying machines still. Alongside them, heavy flying “battleships” too cover the forum’s sky in some places, where they are the most needed. There are dozens of them currently, armed with all sorts of weapons, most feared of which are bubble shredders - for someone outside the forum this name wouldn’t seem very scary, but the opposite is true for the forumfolk of Prosper - now as a navy of mini-thrones has taken to the skies, the level of danger bubble shredders possess has risen to new heights. How much more powerful may the Darrenling ilk even become at this point?
Speaking of Throne, Deus noticed quite quickly that despite winning the battle against the blur, it got damaged rather extensively, prompting the god of gods to send a message to this weaponmaster species, asking for them to fix the blurkiller. Thousands of darrens quickly went to work on repairing for now the diamond of their military knowledge and design, certainly hoping it will find use someday once more…

Mutations: BSA Darkblur Reduction (4/6), Nexus, Outsider Avatar Dialogue (5/6)
Sapiobots: Cyberenergy-only Survival (3(2+1)/6)

Having noticed the efforts by two of the three species making up the domain that worships Devourer collectively, the god of gods most usually known as Deus would investigate to see what can be done about the blur-aligned part of the alliance. Deus could see that in the core of BSA, the movement that is clearly very pro-blur wants to separate from the rest of the alliance and create an isolated “Forum-society”, where they would be able to do their work undisturbed from outside. Seeing this, Deus attempted to reduce the amount of radicalization of the members of BSA’s core, suspecting Darkblur’s mind control might be causing them to be so dedicating to helping their “master”. It seems to have worked somewhat - around a third of the core left for the surface layer of BSA, known to Deus to be pro-covenant. The archmages’ god also committed to creating a new PM which would start generating massive amounts of cyberenergy before this month came to an end, sustaining the god of gods in this dire time when it’s base species isn’t really around anymore, only waiting for whenever, if ever, the surface layer of the forum becomes safe again to manifest themselves again as physical beings. The last affair this month would bring Deus again to New Trench, where the nine outsiders finally found their way to, Just as they noticed Devourer, an avatar the design of an archmage arrived at the scene and started negotiating with the band. Their core goal has always been to punish the one who caused them pain, fear and suffering back at their home forums, but overtime they expanded their goals to also include the whole domain of this “evil” entity and perhaps even the wider alliance of which it’s a member of. Thankfully the avatar managed to have the outsider abandon their plans besides the core one, but it unfortunately couldn’t convince the nine to abandon their goal of killing the Devourer. Deus knows a new battle is soon to commence…
Meanwihle the Sapiobots, with some aid from the Beasts that some say are similar to cats, would try to see if cyberenergy alone is capable of feeding all life in the forum. For now, they concluded it should be possible, but would probably require multiple Nexuses worth of energy generation to have the whole forum fed.
With the aid of the ghost-crabs, the base species of Deuses can function completely in cyberspace now and again attain mutations, though they can only come from mutations already developed by other species.

Mutations: Throne Repairs, Invention Database, Ghostcrab Subspecies (+1 Stealth to ALL Covenant Members)
DM: Cyberization Problems

C. Venenatorum would start off this month by sending many wallcrabs to help the darrens with their repairs on The Throne, which was damaged quite the badly during it’s successful blur capture attempt. While the pride of the darrenlings prevented them from jotting down the event of the crabs aiding in reparing this structure, the crabs still found this a good opportunity to see how good are they at fixing stuff. This also made some members of the highest castes of this species realize that desptie having so many inventions, the covenant doesn’t seem to be writing down their designs or all aspects regarding to their functionality. Because of that, creation of a database commenced, which would soon enough come to contain all the data about the various inventions of the covenant’s so far. Lastly, by modifying the ghostly crabs, a new sub-type of cyber-species was created, this one enhancing memorization abilities, and by that increasing the stealthiness and perception of most organisms the forum hosts.
Deus committed to creating a large cyberenergy-production unit the month, aswell as theory as to if the whole biota could be powered by cyberenergy, but the god of gods wasn’t still sure if it is worth it. As so it ordered the wallcrabs to check for possible disadvantages to becoming powered solely by cyberenergy. As it turns, only eating the energy of the cyber realm seems to slowly disconnect one from the physical layer of the forum, which is certainly not good since the cyberenergy generation units lie there.

Mutations: Soul Code Modification (2.5 M/R + Cyberspacial Mutation Gifting), F. Spiritusvivi Soul Upgrade
DM: Base Layer Injector Cyberenergy Handling

C. Cerecorpus as a species decided to catch up with other species when it comes to their mutation rate, getting to the standard two and a half mutations or specieswide actions a month, with the additional bonus of “gifting” mutations to other species that call only cyberspace home. This later capability would be immediately used to get the archmage species, stuck up to this point in a state where it could only wait for the surface to get cleared of AI-cursors. Now, the species of the god of gods itself will be capable of mutating, albeit only via “stealing” the mutations of other already extant species. Deus will surely be thankful for this help, though it’s uncertain if they will keep using their count of actions/mutations available to them every month for acting or aiding the “exiled” base species of theirs.
Deus meanwhile would order these ghostly crabs to make changed to the base layer of the forum with the cyberspacial injector, which would inject codes aiding easy cyberenergy transportation in that layer. The whole injection went right as planned.

The cat beasts use weapons from afar, and cast cybermagic spells if possible. The wall crabs primarily cast cyber-spells. Half of the thralls use long-range weapons, the other half charge in at the outsiders, led by the avatars of the devourer. The devourer tries to escape from the combat, but also casts very powerful spells from a distance. It also channels souls into the thralls as they die, to cause large explosions. 100 elite cat-beasts try to escape, accompanied with thrall and wall crab guards.. In the scenario that the devourer is almost defeated., the devourer channels 90% of it’s souls and power a large explosion that targets the outsiders. The remaining souls are sent to the elites, in order to preserve the devourer’s power, with each one essentially becoming a mini devourer.

Round 62.5 - Year 5, Month 4

THE DEVOURER AND THEIR FORCES VS THE OUTSIDES

In the New Trench two groups would meet, with their goals being mutual destruction as it seems - The Outsiders have sought to destroy the entity to target them back at their home forums ever since they gained the ability to feel hatred, and The Devourer, alongside their loyal domain, knowing what these Aliens are most likely after, tried to destroy the exiles ever since they arrived in this forum. Now, with not even the rest of The Covenant involved, a clean battle with no external influence as it seems it about to take place. With the relatively small size of New Trench when compared to a regular thread, the forces united under worshiping The Devourer would soon amass to protect their master and god.
(3/6) - Outsiders
(1/6) - Devourer’s Forces
The cultsmen and warriors Devourer has under it’s rule may be fast, but they still have to travel a considerable distance to protect their lord, and with the gang of nine only being spotted just now, they did not even mobilize properly yet, leaving their worshiped exposed to attacks currently.
Meanwhile The Outsiders, not entirely sure how powerful may their past oppressor truly be, decided to play relatively safe for now. Stumpspawn would again create an energy-shield protecting the group just like how it did back during the forumwide struggle again a divine intruder, and from within this forcefield Stargun would emerge and swiftly take position to shoot The Devourer from a safe distance. The bullet would proceed to scrape the to-this-point undisputed master of this PM near it’s head at which the armed outsider was arming, causing the rather fragile Devourer to lose about a fifth of it’s total healthbase.
(5/6) - Devourer’s Forces
(3/6) - Outsiders
The bang of Stargun’s shot has finally mobilized more or less all creatures present in New Trench to move in to protect their god. Whilst the shooter started retreating towards the main group of the band, Devoruer would take the opposite way, seemingly trying to escape the now-dangerous PM. Spells and arrows fill the air, of which these which do hit the energetic barrier of Stumpspawn’s do not pass any further. Stargun may have found itself within the protected zone relatively soon after the assault of the worshipers had started, but still many hits it did sustain, causing it’s healthbase to drop to a half of it’s full capacity. Seemingly some sort of countermeasure is being planned within the shield, to defeat the assaulting forces and reach Devourer before it makes it’s way into some grotto where it would be safe.
(3/6) - Outsiders
(1/6) - Devourer’s Forces
Right when some of the forces loyal to Devourer started to face ammo shortage or an inability to cast any more spells, the energy shield created two holes from which three outsiders emerged this time around - from a hole higher up, the fiery Serphant would fly out, whereas from the hole created at the ground level, Sonar and Sanitizer would walk and crawl out. As the army was preparing to hit these new targets, individually much weaker than Stargun, Sonar released a stun wave which temporarily knocked out the weak cat beasts, mad beasts and devourling crabs all around, whilst also seemingly interfering with energy transfers and spells that were already up in the air. Then, Sanitizer and Serphant would strike both at the same time - from the former’s cones atop it’s many limbs, a sticky soap of sorts would start being shot, expanding in size extremely after leaving the body of this strange outsider. The soap’s true qualities would soon be found out by the creatures which were hit by it’s bubbles, as the afflicted areas of their bodies would start to quite literally melt off of them, while the few arrows which were shot at Sanitizer would find themselves dissolved before they could reach their target. At the same time as this was happening, Serphant would start glowing white from heat, with the temperature soon catching up to all the hostiles nearby, causing severe burns and usually also a painful death. These two “angels of death” would start to massacre the devourlings that stood in between them and Devourer, as many of them still were recovering from the stun attack of Sonar’s. The gap is closing between The Hunting Outsiders and the Hunted Devourer…
(4/6) - Devourer’s Forces
(5/6) - Outsiders
As the effects of the stun wave faded, energy transfers could be resumed once more. With this, Devourer would seek to stop the approach of the two “cleansers” no matter if this also caused some harm to it’s own forces. Soon enough, when Sanitizer and Serphant were targetting a batallion of Thralls, upon them getting covered in the soap and scorched by the intense heat a considerable explosion occured where once they resided in a creature trench, leaving the two whom have killed them damaged nearly to half their healthbase. With that, the “melters” of many cultists would from now on be more careful with what they kill and at what distance…
At the same time, it appears that the formation of Outsiders within the protective shield has dispersed as the shield now too is gone. All members of the band seem to be fighting now, and it does not seem too great for Devourer currently - the charging melee Thrall forces have been more or less swept away after they tried surviving the soap and heat of the cleansing two, the slashing and piercing barrages of Shieldsword and Spadebug, or even the spear-missiles of Sharpwing’s that sometimes impaled many Thralls on them. The ranged units of the army under Devourer’s command however, being a definitive majority in terms of numbers even when compared to the seemingly countless charge Thralls, would pose a significantly larger threat to the band, though they would sustain losses not much smaller than what the melee M. Demens did. The Cat-Beasts, arguably the most powerful out of the trio of the Devourer Domains, alongside the Thralls assigned to ranged roles, would particularly find themselves targeted by the many bees Stumpspawn spat out, now being somewhat away from the main scene of the battle. The Devourling Crabs would meanwhile soon enough find themselves hunted by two outsiders in particular - The flying Sharpwing that could target them from high above, and Speeder, an outsider that has so far not shown off much of what it can do. While Sharpwing was mostly busy aiming the kinetic spears to take out as many crabs as possible, speeder would walk on the walls of the post where most of these Devourlings resided. The incredible speed of this spider-like entity would make it difficult for the mostly ranged foes to hit it, but worse yet, for some strange reason all the crabs with which Speeder made contact with would turn on their mates as soon as the arachnid-like stopped touching them. Despite the pure massacre that was this assault of the band of nine, it did not result in them being unhurt - Sharpwing would be hit by a few spells and arrows despite it’s high manauverability sourcing from four wings, losing 4 HP, Spadebug and Shieldsword would each receive 3 HP of damage from the few spears and swords that made it through their armor in the brief moment their wielder was close and not dead yet, Sonar waiting a bit behind the main heat points would be hit by a few stray arrows, costing it 2 HP, Speeder would meanwhile find itself hit by a spell or two, causing a loss of 3 HP to this rather fragile Outsider. Stumpspawn has been rather secure from most attacks, but a suddenly a strong spell of Devourer’s would hit this rather heavy Outsider, causing bark to be torn off from one side of it’s body and a petal or two to fall from it’s flower, in total resulting in 4 HP of damage. Stargun meanwhile is nowhere to be seen currently, it’s as if this Outsider just vanished…
(3/6) - Outsiders
(1/6) - Devourer’s Forces
While the Outsider did sustain considerable amounts of damage, even more was sustained by both the amount of and morale of the Devourer’s armies. With the hopes of many becoming depleted, first the more cowardly and then most would flee the scene of the battle, desperately hiding in any crevices or pits they could find where they could wait out the storm. The few remaining opponents to the Outsiders would soon be picked out one by one quickly. Once all were either left dead or crippled beyond hope, the seven of the band, missing Stumpspawn behind and Stargun, would begin marching at Devourer, which has used up a significant amount of it’s energy, lifeforce in practice, on casting strong spells of which only one hit their intended targets. Being surrounded by the best of the three species under it’s oversight, and closing in on a link that would lead the leader of New Trench to a safe ground, it would seem like despite having a major loss inflicted on him the Devourer would be guaranteed a survival. However, just as the grouping of Devourer’s found itself a dozen or so posts away from the link, the least expected happened - from the link Stargun appeared, and would immediately shoot at Devourer! Having been shot by this star-shaped Outsider before, the ant-like forum god would manage to just barely dodge the bullet, but many Cat-Beasts behind their lord would not be so lucky…
(3/6) - Devourer’s Forces
(3/6) - Outsiders
Knowing the link is the only way out of there, and having seven other outsider approaching it’s location rapidly, Devourer would seek to push into the post at which the link is located at. Stargun however would not be happy to let that happen, and so after jumping much closer to Devourer’s group, it would shoot once more at the despised enemy of the band. Once again, more of a grazing shot was achieved than a direct hit, costing Devourer a further fifth of it’s total healthbase, which when combined with the previous injury and the expenditure of energy to summon strong spells added up to Devourer now being at roughly half of it’s total health poll. With a further part of the best beasts eliminated, their lord would launch an another strong spell, this time directly at Stargun. The outsider would jump away quickly enough to avoid the main hit of the explosion, but the shockwave still caused some damage to the gunned Alien, costing it further 2 HP.
(1/6) - Outsiders
(6/6) - Devourer’s Forces
After landing following the evasive jump, Stargun would seek to link up with the other eight outsiders instead of attacking Devourer further, because as it appears the Outsider to attack the Party of Devourer’s from surprise had to reload before shooting further. This would leave the path to the escape link open for the Devourer, which opportunity it would use immediately. With the last attempts of the band’s at slaying their eternal foe being a few spears shot by Sharpwing, none would land at any foe, through the Devourer would be left with only around a half of it’s original group of elites remaining. Once Devourer entered whatever lies beyond the link, the pursuit of the Outsiders stopped, for being ambushed by the Devourer on the other side of the link is certainly not something the Outsiders want even in face of their hatred of Devourer. Through no one really won or lost in this battle, the band views this as a failure.
For some reason, both the Outsiders and the Devourer’s group could feel after the atmosphere has cooled down as if they were being observed by something beyond, only for this feeling to disappear…
Eventually, after finishing off the remaining soldiers at this place, the band of nine would surprisingly swiftly Navigate their way from New Trench to the wilderness and then from there to TOR’s PM. It is a mystery what will they do to improve their performance…
