@hhyyrylainen, have you ever thought of enabling LaTeX for both forums?

Is it necessary? There seems to be:

But installing a plugin like that requires the site to be down for 30 minutes.

I would have no problem with that. I mean, it would be useful for theorists would they have to create an equation or if some of us on the forums want to talk mathematics.
I’d be glad to make a simple calculus example if you ever install this kind of plugin.

@hhyyrylainen, there’s another question. Why is there a post limit of 500 for PM?

It’s probably the discourse default. PMs are meant for brief private discussions, with most actual discussions should be had in real threads. It’s also more difficult to moderate PMs as unless posts are reported there the staff doesn’t really see them.

it’s my anniversary!

why didnt you post that in the birthday thread?

It is a birthday thread, but with people not knowing the difference between anniversary and birthday cake people ended up congratulating everyone with an anniversary as well.

well both anniversary and birthday congratulating should be in the same thread

2 posts were merged into an existing topic: Happy Birthday Thread

Maybe extraterrestrial spacefaring civilizations don’t interact with lesser civilizations such as humans in the same way that we are not to intervene in a natural ecosystem.

There is now the discourse math plugin installed

You better make good use of it. No spam.
