Action: Create A Form Of Government To Help Manage The Increasing Number Of People

Questions and comments

@OmnipotentFNarr, now that we are at 10,000 years ago, will the time slow down a bit? I mean, there would be a problem if we still haven’t reached the civilization stage at 1,000 years ago.
Also, I am happy to have met the requirements for iron metallurgy.
EDIT: Wait, what’s wrong with my dice rolls? I don’t see the penalty for using individual actions…

My actions

  • 25 Britons research on a better furnace to achieve higher temperatures.
  • 16 Britons research on fishing to establish a fishery by the Thames river (river next to Londinium).

Oh, sweet Michigan, a landmark! The Aztecs would be so proud of me! How sacrifices will work (I’m going to be more civil with them, so no babies for the Sun God!): One man and one woman will be sacrificed in the end of every year, exactly when the Sun is above Sola Eclipsa. That way all Gods will be honoured (and satisfied, hopefully) and the next year will be productive. The sacrifices will be done by Sun Priests (I guess that’s a new job:D), who are chosen specifically by Montezuma.

Action: (Create an alphabet) After the construction of Sola Eclipsa, Montezuma was very satisfied with how things turned out for his people. And he thought that this great temple will come up in the minds of the future generations when they think of him, long after he died. And then, something in his mind snapped - what if more was left to the future generations? What if by using symbols he and his people pass down important knowledge? And thus he started working on multiple symbols, each with it’s own meaning.

Yes, time will slow down.

Also, good catch, that was a mistake, but I’ll give it to you

EDIT: By the way, for iron metallurgy, you have to upgrade your oven again.

Christ Almighty, I’ll edit and re-post my actions then.

Britain was one of the main places where tin (which is actually a very rare metal) came from in the ancient world, so it’s cool they got bronze first.

Action: The existing professions gain 5 each, 9 people try out this new plant thing that sounds boring, and 1 person becomes a healer. Traders sail over to our close neighbors and learn basic metallurgy in exchange for sailboats.

Is it an action to assign the new people to existing professions, by the way?

Please don’t put another requirement for iron blacksmithing…

i think it is not an action.

No assigning jobs is free, but division of labour (which grants the bonus) counts as an action.

Also, can you elaborate on the plant thing? I don’t understand what you mean by trying the boring plant.

what is the difference between assigning jobs and division of labor?

You can give any random person a job but they’ll also do other stuff, but with division of labour, their job becomes their only skill, so they specialize in it and some people will be better at things than others depending on their job.

Does it change the roll?

Yes, I explained it in Pentaphon’s result but basically it applies the same base as the missing people, but with a bonus instead of a malus. For example, with 50 population and 20 farmers, you decide to build a farm. Normally you would get -5 from the missing five groups of six, but on top of that, because they’re specialized, you get +3, because there are three groups of six farmers doing the action.

Does making jobs count as an action?
