Edit: I wonder if Dr. Zenn’s strain of the virus is not a mutation, but a purposeful alternate form of the virus meant to send the mainstream infected into further stages of infection? Similar to a caste system or what have you

researcher nigel nova has also gotten a bit over twice as strong since then.
i thought it was at first, but the genome stuff i had trappist do on Dr. zenn’s tissue samples i took showed that Dr. zenn’s form of the virus has some genes the original strain doesn’t, with only one of those genes being active during stage one, and unless the host is exposed to the possessive mask during stage one it just turns off at the start of stage 2, but if they are it turns on all the genes the original strain doesn’t have and turns off the genes that give the host unconscious shapeshifting powers before they do anything but give them a new cell type that just eats viruses, turns them into glucose and amino acids, and has no genes of its own, but after changing the host’s brain to make them hate humanoids with cat features.
so, while it is like a caste of the virus, it is also a mutated version, and the base version cannot create the ‘caste’ that zenn’s strain made him into, as it doesn’t have the genes that zenn’s strain used to do it.

Aight, meta time. Nigel, please don’t try to make your character the OP MC. A few cool things are fine (ex. Danial being immune to SCP-8610, Twilight claiming to be able to send people to the shadow realm) but just making yourself overwhelmingly powerful doesn’t make this fun for anybody (except maybe yourself)
If you’re just trying to make your character sound overconfident, mb, maybe try to make that more obvious? Just feels like it’s getting back into the territory of Dr. Zenns dream

or sliced a few times with a set of around 5 3-inch long, extremely sharp, serrated claws, and that’s the average for cats scaled up to human size

Addentum 30, 1/16/2024, 4:04 PM: Researcher Nigel Nova was shown on the site’s security cameras to be venturing to the catpeople containment region of the facility.
“Hope everything goes to plan…eh…how strong could they possibly be anyway.” He scoffed.
He entered the chamber.
4:05 PM:
Researcher Nigel Nova was met with a room full of 8610 instances. Bravely, or stupidly, he announced:
“Who’s the strongest out of all of you, eh?”
This was his first mistake.
A Seemingly weak instance of 8610 approached him, though, none really APPEARED to be strong. Even though they possessed inhuman strength.
Initiating combat, he lunged forward to punch the instance. To his surprise, and to the surprise of those who were looking at the cameras, the instance took the punch, causing its untimely demise.
The instance then retreated, calmly. Well, as calm as someone who got punched in the head could possibly be.
Then, another approached him. This one took less damage than the last. It was only knocked out.
“Oh…this isn’t good…” Researcher Nigel Nova admitted, making his way out of the containment chamber, double checking no instances got out.
