What is the maximum amount of damage a 8610-3 instance can survive? Reduced to single cell?

Assuming that single cell survives long enough to make enough -3 fluid it can start eating ants, yes.

Many ‘infection’-type SCP’s instances can be terminated to some extent.
SCP-008 and SCP-610 instances can be terminated

btw the number 8610 is 610 with 8 before it because I wanted the SCP to not be in Series 8 (which was the series when the thread started)

SCP-008 and SCP-610 instances can be terminated

I don’t think they were terminated. Honestly, there are lots of SCPs which the Foundation could pretty easily put out of commision yet they never did that. 173 is made of concrete so they could blow it up or something, yet in most canons it’s still alive.

the point is SCP-8610 is immortal (ridiculously hard) unlike most SCPs

I’m sure a team of even the most underprepared MTF could neutralize SCP-049

SCP-8610 is immortal

With enought preparation it could still be taken out, but the fact that this SCP is also a cognitohazard makes it a lot harder to neutralize.

Oh, came from a d-class who was getting the death sentence because he used the ‘candy van’ and left the children he lured in with it murdered, and because he was really against getting eaten, and monsters like that don’t deserve their preferred death.

Director C walked into the room of SCP-049, stepping into the observation chamber, a guard, who was just a junior researcher assigned to the project looked at him.
“I need access to SCP-049 right now.”

“SCP-049 has been on lockdown to staff since 2019.”

“SCP-049 is the only one that can cure this mess.”

“If you mean the catgirls, SCP-8610 contained right now?”

“I’m partly responsible for this mess I believe.”

“What do you mean?”

“Forget it. Let me enter SCP-049 now.”

“No-”

“That’s not a question, that’s an order.”

The researcher looked in defeat, opening a dusty glass guard, and turning a key. The lights on the door turned green, signifying that it was not on lockdown. director C would open the door, with a slide of his keycard, and lock it behind him.

The plauge doctor would turn around, his beady blue eyes looking straight at him.

“I’ve been expecting one of your Foundation’s men. 5 years really does pass by when you’re in ISOLATION!”

“Don’t get angry here- but I- we need your help.”

“…don’t expect me to help you after what your Foundation did.”

“Maybe if you did help, we might give you your privileges back.”

“…I’m in.”

January 10th, 8:10PM

“So this, is SCP-8610. A virus that turns people into cat hybrids.”

“Intresting, so what do you need.”

“SCP-8610-3, a liquid that can cause instant stage 4 infection when touched, could cause a mass extinction at any time. We need you to fix this infection.”

“I need samples.”

“Thought you would say that.”

Director C would take a sample out of his pocket, handing it carefully to SCP-049.

“Intrest-”

Within a second, SCP-049 had dropped the small glass cylinder, as the liquid took a step back, taking a second to comprehend what had happened.

“Oh god no,”

Director C would step back a step.

“Nya? Why are you scared of me senpai?”

Director C belgiuming ran.

Test Results:
SCP-049 is now highly submissive and breedable
Director C is researching other ways of curing the disease.
