Because Iâm really hyped for a Thrive Steam Workshop.
If Iâm in charge of the steam release, Iâll make it a âforced donationâ.
The âsoftware freedom organizationâ doesnât actually fund any development. They act as an entity handling the donations, but it is still up to us to get people to donate.
I prefer the old music.
I agree, but I still have the âunfinishedâ version in my playlist instead of the finished version, so I am probably a bit biased.
What do you mean by the ââunfinishedâ versionâ?
Oh wait, nevermind.
0.4.3
There will be an hiatus during the holidays so there wonât be any updates untill January
We are back!
I have to say, while I love the addition of cell walls, I canât help but wonder how useful theyâll be in the current auto-evo system.
Also, I feel like Thriveâs patreon should be renamed to Hhyyrylainenâs patreon for now, comparable to Untrustedlifeâs old patreon, since currently thatâs what the the Patreons will be paying. Of course Hhyyrylainen is the main dev right now, but that will (hopefully) not be permantent. Only when the non-profit is actually set up should it be renamed back to Thriveâs.
That new design documents looks very good. Methanogenic microbes? Manganese metabolism? Yes please! I especially like the idea of a sulfurous world. Though my unemployment continues, once I have an income I will throw some shekels your way.
I thought about the options a lot and came to the conclusion that it made the most sense to make one saying âhere, this is the patreon for thrive, letâs see if we can get some moneyâ because the earlier attempt did not gain traction. If the patreon reaches enough money to cover the costs of registering a non-profit I will make it a priority thing to sort out. I will also try to be as transparent as possible on what the money is spent on.
Yaaaay! Planet generator!
