Hi, im new! sorta?

Hey, im Mac. I am sorta new here? After years I decided to make an account on the Thrive community forums and say hi. I’ve been following Thrive progress since 2019. I even bought the game on Steam. I have to thank this community for introducing me to speculative evolution- i know it sounds silly, but it’s been a real life changer for me and I’ve met my very best friends in the community. Sorry I don’t really know how forums work..

I remember lurking and searching around the forums for news and progress reports on Thrive, waiting and waiting for the latest news, mostly about multicellular stage  i also remember reading the forum games. Do people still do that here btw?

Anyways, it’s nice to finally make an introduction after all of these years. I’m looking forward to the future of Thrive!!

Also check out my friend Animalia- he’s here too

My forum game is called Intermediates (Now Open), which was inspired by Kakhitt | Evo Game and Nick’s Auto-Evo Algorithm Forum Game.

Basically, using a modified version of the random generation found in My Guidelines for playing like the AI! (when generation of intermediates in Auto-Evo was only 5 rather than 20+ as it is now), everyone who joined is playing as one of these random generated intermediates. These randomly generated intermediates go through various filters, like whether they can live upon being generated in an actual game, which in turn depends on ATP balance. More recently, this includes Niche placement. In effect, I test these organisms/cells by playing the actual game, so you can use these generated organisms in your own playthroughs of Thrive. Even though I have included “additional” organelles to make things more interesting, these are simply vanilla organelles where I turn on or off various processes using the metabolism/process panel.

Also, like in Kakhitt, you can switch you chosen organism, name it, and even give it a theme song if you wish. I may add other personalized things later. And of course, I do sometimes add events/questions, and try to make commentary out of what is going on/what is to come. Additionally, one regular Thrive game 100 million turn is four FG turns, or 25 million years per FG turn.

Sorry about typing this all out; I get carried away sometimes. I hope information this helps.
